This social work degree provides academic knowledge and practical skills you will need for a social work career. You will explore a range of social issues, within children and families and adult social work.
Our teaching staff are active in research and experts in their fields while social work placements with local authorities will give you the skills required to practise as a social worker. Graduates can apply to register with the social work regulator, Social Work England.
We offer an employment-based route where applicants are sponsored by their social care employer to complete the course in four years. The employer would be responsible for finding the placement.

• When you complete this course you become eligible to apply to register with Social Work England (SWE).
• If you're looking for hands on experience, our degree has strong work placement arrangements with local authorities and the voluntary sector.
• You can study full-time or part-time. Our part-time route is employment-based, and students must be sponsored by their employer.

Avery Hill Campus offers students a relaxed environment in the leafy London neighbourhood of Eltham and is only 30 minutes by train from central London. Everything is on-site and there are many students living on campus so it's a lively place to be.
Medway Campus is a historic site with redbrick buildings in north Kent. Students live, work and socialise on-site. There's a shopping centre across the road and the train to London takes 45 minutes.
There are hundreds of degree courses to choose from in a wide range of disciplines. Many courses offer a placement year option, giving you the chance to gain career-enhancing industry experience. There are also opportunities to earn while you study with the Student Job shop scheme.
