International Business with Foundation Year

The BA International Business programme is accredited by European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) Global. We are one of 12 schools in the UK and 145 schools worldwide holding the EFMD Accredited badge (2025)

The BA International Business degree caters for learners who wish to add an international dimension to their business education and who are aiming for a career in the global business market. It will be equally attractive to learners from the UK and from other countries and will give them the opportunity to live and study in up to four countries other than their own, and the option of a one-year work placement.

Through an experiential and problem-based pedagogy, the programme is designed to develop socially responsible leaders and managers of tomorrow by equipping them with the business and management skills, language competence and/or cultural awareness required for success in an international business environment. Collaboration with home and international business partners, enables a practice-based approach, preparing the student with the knowledge and competencies required for managerial posts in the UK and other countries.

The international experience will be an important and positive factor in the personal development of learners and will give them a competitive edge in the job market, whilst a foreign language competence will give them an additional edge. The inclusion of enterprise experiences will help students to gain valuable employability skills during their studies, ensuring career readiness for graduate level employment.
The learners also could attain a dual award with some of our Trans-Atlantic Business School Alliance (TABSA ) partners by spending two years at the partner institution. In addition, there are opportunities to obtain a double degree with one year study abroad.
