Photography has profoundly shaped – and continues to shape – the world around us. Studying Photography at the University of Huddersfield gives you the opportunity to explore a medium that influences everything from social media, fashion and news to fine art, film, space exploration and beyond.
Our course combines creative experimentation with technical excellence. You’ll be part of a supportive and professionally minded creative community and work with a wide range of cameras, techniques and creative approaches, exploring still and moving image, generative media (AI), and both digital and analogue processes. You’ll be encouraged to push boundaries and take risks in developing your photographic vision and professional direction.
Alongside developing your own creative identity, you’ll explore historical and contemporary photographic practices, discover and debate key ideas and learn how to present and exhibit your work with confidence, all the while discovering a wide range of professional pathways. Field trips, collaborative projects, and live industry briefs will inspire and expand your practice and connect you to the creative industries.
