You will learn from staff with professional experience in the fashion industry, and use cutting edge equipment located in our purpose-built £30 million specialist Barbara Hepworth Building.<br/><br/><strong>Why study Fashion Design with Marketing?</strong><br/>* You’ll develop professional skills in fashion design, portfolio techniques, CAD, pattern cutting and garment construction, whilst also studying the marketing aspects of a business, including how to create a brand and how to promote your products.<br/><br/><br/>* We’ll support you in the application of a range of industry standard technology to bring your ideas to life, including software that will enable you to produce professional fashion marketing material.<br/><br/><br/>* Our industry-facing approach, including the opportunity to undertake a placement year, will help prepare you for a career in this exciting and diverse industry.<br/><br/><br/>Fashion Design with Marketing BA(Hons) focuses on fashion design with the specialism of fashion marketing, through market awareness and intelligence, brand concepts and identity, and marketing strategies. <br/><br/>Professional links and accreditation: <br/>This course is industry recognised by ScreenSkills (https://www.screenskills.com/), the industry-led skills body for the UKs screen-based industries, and carries the ScreenSkills quality mark which indicates courses best suited to prepare students for a career in the screen industries.<br/><br/>This course is accredited by the Textile Institute (http://www.textileinstitute.org/), a worldwide organisation for textiles, clothing and footwear.<br/><br/>This was awarded in June 2017 and is reviewed every five years. The accreditation recognises the quality and excellence of the course’s provision, and that it meets the educational standards required by the relevant specialisations within the Textiles industry.<br/><br/>Students who graduate from this course can apply for the professional qualification, Associateship and Chartered Membership of the Textile Institute, after a shorter period of work experience than is usually required, or in some cases directly on graduation. <br/><br/>Additional Costs - Materials: <br/>Basic materials will be provided during the first and second years of the course, including pattern paper, thread and calico fabric. You’ll need to supply some of your own materials, including sewing equipment, art materials and printing. The costs may vary based on the materials you choose.<br/><br/>During your first and second years we endeavour to gain fabric sponsorship for all first and second year projects. If no fabric sponsorship can be gained the maximum cost will be approximately £100 per student in Year 1 and £200 per student in Year 2.<br/><br/>In the final year you’ll need to supply the materials you require to produce your major collection. There is no limit on the amount you may wish to spend, however as a guide, costs in recent years have ranged from £200 to £1500 per student for this project.
