History, Year 1

freshers week was fairly quiet for me however this is due to me living at home and having to travel to salford. i don’t stay in accommodation at salford however i’ve been in a friends accommodation room and it’s very good. facilities at salford uni are great, on site gym within walking distance of classes aswell as the SU bar which is modern and welcoming. fairly small sized groups help to encourage participation from all so nobody feels left out in seminar discussions. Manchester is a great city, plenty bars and of course the football teams both in fairly close proximity to salford uni. My course, Contemporary military and international history contains a broad variety of subjects from wars in the past but also security and counterterrorism in the modern day

Freshers week was insightive and gave us a good chance to see what we were getting ourselves into. Plus all the freshers weeks offers and activities made it fun. I dont use the accommodation myself. However my friends at university do seem to enjoy staying there and are having a good time. The library is good. I personally use the media city campus which is based in Salford Quays which means I can get a good walk with nice scenery by the Quays after a hard study session. Due to the current pandemic it has been hectic. However,it is getting easier as I am adapting to learn in the current environment City life is amazing. However I am going to be biased as I am a mancunian but it is full of vibrant people and has a lot of places to go and see. Its a very diverse city

Freshers week for me was interesting, I was so nervous yet excited about the week. It was amazing to meet so many new people in such a short amount of time. The accommodation was spacious, modern and exciting! It was close to the train station and had a good surroundings of shops etc The facilities were fab- the library had all the equipment you needed in order to study. The classrooms were spacious, well equipped and set up to learn efficiently. Overall a very high standard! The course covered so many modules, which were taught in the right way- with a mix of theory and practical modules! Thoroughly enjoyed the lecture experience City life was great! Being so close to both Salford centre & Manchester. Meant that nights out offered so much more! There was so much to do from cinema, food, shopping and more!

The course is very different but interesting. So many people from different countries, schools, backgrounds which I find very fascinating.

Law / Legal Studies, Year 2

It was good, lots of late nights but the nightlife was really good in Manchester and lots of deals on which all the students loved The university is clean and modern, it was well equipped the kitchen was modern and had a good living space The facilities are great, lots of Libary work space the only thing is it can get overcrowded pre Covid finding it sometimes difficult to find a work space. The teachers are also present in other Job roles so we got to experience that side of it and they would make the topics interesting City life was good, the uni is situated in a really good place, so easy to get into city centre and so many things close by

University of Salford

University of salford is very supportive with every step I've took. I started in September last year and it has been a great journey so far. Everyone is so welcoming and there is so many opportunities to advance my career for the future. With professional policing, we constantly have professional bodies coming in and talk about their role. For example, we had a cheif constable come in, we also had a trip to headquarters and courts. It was very interesting to see. My tutors and my lecturers constantly advise us that if we are struggling, we should go to them. It's just nice to have the feeling of reassurance. This is because I took a gap year and kind of forgot how to structure assignments started. However, the university have so many workshops that I can join to improve my writing skills.

Studying Midwifery at the university of Salford for the past 6 months has been amazing. The university has so much to offer with its own SIM lab that can do an array of situations that help students transition into hospital life as emergencies do happen.
The lecturers are very supportive to help you achieve your best and are always on hand for tutorials to explain further into assignments. Studying here has been an experience and I don't think I ever want to leave!
