Our aim is to shape confident learners by enabling you to develop the skills needed to excel in your studies and beyond into the employment market.<br/><br/>**Course Highlights**<br/>- Gain hands-on experience of the Sports Therapy profession on clinical placements.<br/><br/><br/>- You will learn to employ the principles of sport and exercise science to prevent injuries, and to evaluate and rehabilitate injured athletes.<br/><br/><br/>- Be able to provide the immediate care of injuries and basic life support in recreational, training, occupational, and competitive environments.<br/><br/><br/>- Learn to assess, treat, rehabilitate and, where appropriate, refer for specialist advice and intervention.<br/><br/><br/>- This programme is accredited by the Society of Sports Therapists.<br/><br/><br/>**Learning Style**<br/><br/>You are taught primarily through a combination of lectures, seminars, and practical workshops, allowing opportunities to discuss and develop your understanding of topics covered in groups. In addition to formally scheduled contact time, you are encouraged to access academic support from staff within the course team and the wide range of services available to you within the University. You will progressively build your knowledge, practical and clinical skills, confidence, and expertise under the tuition of our expert staff.<br/><br/>**Facilities**<br/><br/>Our industry-standard sport and exercise facilities at the King Alfred campus allow you to blend science and hands-on practice. You will benefit from bespoke amenities, such as biomechanics, physiology and psychology laboratories. The library electronic resources supply access to a large number of sport and rehabilitation journals and books. This degree is taught alongside our various sports degrees, as well as physiotherapy, nursing, and dietetics, providing opportunities for interprofessional learning and practice.<br/><br/>**Our Connections**<br/><br/>You will gain hands-on experience of the Sports Therapy profession on clinical placements. It is a requirement that 200 hours of work placement must be undertaken between the end of the second year and the end of the third year of study. This may take place after the semester two study period. You will have student membership with the Society of Sport Therapists (SST) which provides you with access to their jobs board where current professional vacancies and volunteering opportunities are posted regularly.

A science A-level or equivalent at grade C or above. Biology or human biology are preferred, but other sciences are acceptable. Level 3 BTEC science qualifications graded merit or above are considered on an individual basis.
