Law, Year 2

(5)·By Jess H·Law· Apr 2019
Very exciting and give me the opportunity to bond and make relationships with new people in and easy and fun way!

There’s a few different accommodations building with different price ranges suitable for everyone. There’s also a lot of student houses around the areas too

The SU bars are really good, classrooms are great. Sports areas around Swansea could be improved

All support was offered when needed and there was facilities available if need be to use.

Wind street is very popular in Swansea which was always full of students on the weekend and especially student nights

Really good course that gives you opportunities to do different experiences and learn new things with a good support system

My university experience was great, there was always plenty of opportunities to join different clubs and be able to volunteer. The student union was also really good and there was always events on at university.

Art and design, Year 1

(4.8)·By Lily R·Art· Oct 2018
My course staff made me feel very welcome at the university, as did the staff of the wider institute. I am based in the art and design faculty, which encompasses a wide array of courses, meaning there is a hub of various sectors of creativity. There is also an impressive library on site which is specific to art and design (usually a pretty bare section in regular libraries!)

The location of the university is within walking distance of the town centre, so shops, clubs and bars are all close at hand. The beach and maritime quarter are also closeby, fronting the university with the picturesque vista of the Mumbles.

Going to The University of Wales has opened up so many opportunities for me!

(4.8)·By dave w·Archaeology· Oct 2018
Working as a student ambassador has been brilliant, as it's good fun and has helped the money situation! Halls are ok once you put up a few pictures and fairy lights and the union is nice to spend time in in general, either chilling with mates during the week or going out at the weekend! The atmosphere on campus is really friendly, as all the teachers know my name and are very helpful. Love this place!

I had an awesome experience here

UWTSD made going to university so much easier than I thought it would be! The staff were helpful from the moment I made my application, and were always friendly when I called. My lecturers really inspired me in general actually. My favourite thing by far is the friendly atmosphere we get from being a small campus, as you get to know so many people really well. The night-life is incredible and I've definitely made some of the best memories of my life.

The Uni of south wales is a great place to learn and grow, the modern building is expanding daily and has become and inspiring place to work. Cardiff is a great city not too big and not too small, with great bars and clubs. The nightlife is cheaper than most cities and a great place to go out with friends.

Both campuses are good in different ways

(4.8)·By janice d·Anthropology· Oct 2018
I studied an undergraduate and postgraduate, so got to experience both campuses. Camarthen campus is tidy with lots of sports and arts facilities, but it can also be good fun at the union and we have a good selection of pubs, bars etc. The social life is better here than at Lampeter, as Lampeter is just really beautiful and has a strong sense of tradition. YThe library is excellent, especially for humanities, so if you want a nice place to study then this is the place to go.

Psychology / Criminology, Year 3

Great! Met lots of new people and we visited many beautiful places around Wales. As an international student, it was a really fun experience! I stayed at the recommended student accommodation nearby, my flatmates were really nice people from all around the world! Was great meeting them, they helped to bring so much balance between uni and my social life. It didn't take me longer than 15 minutes to get to uni too so that was great! The library is my absolute favourite! Not to mention the tremendous amounts of resources but the facilities inside made studying so so so conducive. The quiet spaces and small discussion spaces helped so much througout the course. The Student Union also were really friendly and also are active on social media so it's easy to keep up with upcoming events. I love that my classes are in small batches so it is really easy to engage in conversation with lecturers in class. Moodle, the platform we received our notes and platform for submissions too were very straightforward and helped me to keep organised. I also loved that in the final year we were given options of elective modules which we could choose based on our interests for our future plans after our degree. It's been good! A little quiet on this side but I love it. Not too many distractions to keep me away from my studies but still plenty for me to explore.
