You will develop your knowledge and awareness of cutting-edge developments and learn the essential skills to meet the demands of the contemporary electrified automotive industry.<br/><br/>You will have a complete understanding of hybrid and electric powertrains, connected vehicles and autonomous driving, design of electric drives, low-carbon engines and fuels, and multiphysics modelling of automotive systems using advanced computational tools.<br/><br/><strong>How you will learn</strong><br/>You will learn through diverse methods, blending real-world problem-based learning in a multi-disciplinary context. Beyond traditional lectures and seminars, youll engage in practical sessions like site visits, group projects, sandpits, and presentations. Course modules will be flexibly delivered primary face-to-face with options of online virtual environments in alignment with the 2030 Aston’s strategy to support students learning and teaching. Aston University is dedicated to student support, offering personal tutoring for guidance, and the Learning Development Centre provides assistance in mathematics, academic writing development, and advice on managing your studies. Your personal tutor will support you to overcome any challenge you might face to ensure that you always on track. Our formula students made great achievement in electrifying the conventional petrol formula student’s car. <br/><br/><br/><br/>• Take part in a Global Engineering Design Challenge competition administered by the Engineers without Borders (EWB) UK and the Efficiency for Access Coalition. Where you will tackle real-world engineering problems and propose innovative solutions - find out more. <br/><br/><br/><br/><strong>What you will learn</strong><br/>This program has been developed with the primary objective of inculcating the concept of autonomous vehicles in the minds of engineers belonging to different disciplines and industries. This postgraduate course aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the critical subject areas and cultivate essential skills related to electrified and autonomous vehicles. The program delves into several aspects, including but not limited to the design, development, and implementation of autonomous vehicles. It also covers the latest advancements in sensor technology, machine learning algorithms, computer vision, and control systems. Overall, the program seeks to equip engineers with the necessary knowledge and skills to build and manage autonomous vehicles safely and efficiently.
