BIMM

(5)·By Georgia P·Music· Jun 2023
Bimm Manchester is a great place, I started September this year and I couldn't fault the place! I have been given plenty of performance opportunities and met a wide range of different musicians from all over, for my chosen career path, I think this is brilliant as if I am travelling around I will always have somebody I can always ask for a helping hand if I need someone to fill in as a band member!
Anyone who is looking to study music at University I would 100% recommend.

Drama, Year 2

(4.8)·By Emily M·Drama· Apr 2019
I loved freshers it was a great way to meet new people and I’ve made friends from there that I still meet up with to go for coffee and cake. Fresher fairs are really handy too as you find out all about all the different things going on at around the area you’re living in.

It’s so brilliant it’s really built my confidence. I feel like a different person to the person I was when I first joined. My teachers are so helpful and push me to beyond my limits. I’m so great full. I have made so fantastic friends too.

Everything is so fresh and clean. We get all the best equipment that we need for our lessons and everything is all up to date that we need in the lessons. There is a great snack fridge which I find myself in a lot of the time which is fab. Eve thing is brilliant.

The course has really built my confidence and made me such a confidence Individual. I’ve done things I never thought I would. I feel so loved and wanted and I feel so supported by not only my teachers but my friends too.

City life is incredible! If you want a Nando’s at 10pm you can get it. If you need some new tights at 7pm from primark you can get them. It’s such a cool place to live everyone is so lovely and makes you feel so at home.

Always make sure you go to lessons prepared make sure you know exactly what you’re doing. Don’t mess around is lessons as teachers will get fed up of the way you work in the environment. Make sure you go to all of the fresher events as you will find some of your friends there that might not even be at your university. Do to everything that you can and really make the most of every moment as it goes so so quickly.

Music, Year 2

It was great. A lot of networking events, concert like scenes where we can socialise with other like minded students. Boat party was awesome. Specialise uni that focuses on the art of music it self. They're very active, and are willing to support to any student that are genuine to succeed in the industry. Free studios in the University. Also free bookings in Pirate Studios for a limitation of 3-9 hours. A lot of student clubs such as Wall climbing, BIMMington, etc. Year one was great as the lecturers had first hand experience in the industry. They have a lot of wisdom and experience which made the course exciting and worth to learn. London as a city is the awesome. Especially for a young youth, as the scenes in London are very diverse. You can never be bored (pre-lockdown) as there is always places to go to and stuff to do.

really good, lots of events on , and being in private halls it was good to meet people at other uni's. it's good, have to find own accommodation but that means you meet a wider range of people. very good, library, common room etc, everything good. all the lecturers are experts, with most still within the industry themselves which is great for us as students. very good, lots to do, lots of places to go. it not only develops you as a performer in your own field, but it develops your knowledge of other musicians and the industry as a whole

Media Studies, Graduate

Fresehers week was very interactive and informative i had the opportunity to meet my classmates and get to know them through various activities. I also had the chance to meet head of each module and listen to them presenting themselves and what they teach I lived in accommodation first year and had the most wonderful experience because i was located in nice halls. Even though the price was expensive the facilities were useful to us as students and the staff working there were always helpful and assistive The library isn't the most modern library I've been to however it has all the resources we need for our modules and if we had a hard time Finding something someone was always there to help. Classrooms aren't as modern in every building however very clean at all times. Student union is always a great time every year they raise our expectations and fulfill them The lectures are very interactive with us as students they made sure everyone felt included and welcomed from the start and they were patient with our learning. The course is interesting in the way its delivered and the ways we are able to interact with it Brighton is an ideal city life for students as there are 2 universities it always feels like a student dominant city where you get to meet loads of people your age and on the same experience as you whilst having all these student friendly activities discounts etc

Music, Year 3

Brilliant, i was really scared at first because it's such a shock having to meet so many new people considering I'd been with my classmates for 5 years. But the amount of different activities that my uni offered for freshers week, definitely made me get to know a lot of people so starting would be easier. BIMM, is an amazing music school that also houses management and business students. This means that any aspiring artist will have everyone that they would meet in the industry under one roof. Our extensive library is online but we have a small library in our green room (break room) where we have vending machines for snacks. You get to walk in to everyone practicing which gets you inspired yourself My course covers all the basics that one would need to build their confidence in their chosen course. We get the option to have one on one lessons with our tutors for further help/ work on our specialism. All in all over the years helping us to understand who we are and how we can use what we learn postgraduation BIMM is located in next to a football stadium where we get to have some of our larger lessons. It's located next to the train station so your never far away from central London, and the station is inside a huge shopping centre full of restaurants that you would go into during your break times.

So good, met tons of new people

BIMM, is a music institute in Brighton, London and various other places in Europe, you study popular music culture there, and they guide you into being a professional musician, it is insane!!

The famo cities are amazing, guitar amps, bass amps, drums, mics, practice rooms, so much equipment that your able to borough, it’s the best thing because if you need somthing, what ever it is, bimm has it for somthing similar

The course and lectures are amazing because they interact with each student thouroghly so that everyone feels equal and not falling behind, my course is only 2 people and it’s brilliant

Brighton is amazing, the beach, skating, parks, shops, restaurants, there is so much to do in Brighton, it’s amazing that what ever you want to do, they basically have it, I love the citie so much and am definitely staying here after my course

Students to be ready to learn as much as they possibly can, concentrate and try hard in everything they do, the tutors here only help you if you do what they say, of your not practicing you shouldn’t be playing music, teachers have great respect for you and trust you to do other jobs for them aswell, all of you focus

It was good and really well organised although being a native of the city, I tended to opt-out of joining in I stayed in private accommodation Limited on all fronts The lecturers/tutors are highly experienced in their fields, I learnt a lot from all of them Somewhat bias as I was already from here - I love it
