University with right academic and practice support

(5)·By Marilia M·Nursing· Jun 2023
Bucks New University gives nurses students full support during lectures and placements. We have a great team of professionals who are always available to help. Preparation is high standard, quality of lessons is very good and there is a hospital scenario where we can practice whatever we covered in the week. Allowing student to apply understanding. I was afraid I wasn't going to cope before starting the course. Now I feel relieved I have choose this university. Even though all the difficulties in the way - such as living far away - I feel capable and happilly determined to continue with my studies at Bucks New University.

Nursing, Year 2

(5)·By Jasmine A·Nursing· Jul 2021
Amazing, I lived in halls and spent two weeks out in the SU. Everyone was so friendly, security were top notch and the SSHH (silent students happy homes) bus keeps everyone safe. Really good, security are helpful when you lock yourself out! Accomodation team are speedy at solving problems too. Library is open 24/7 and has so much space. Classrooms are tidy and organised, and there's a gym onsite. The SU is amazing at supporting their students. The lecturers know what they're talking about, and have experience in the field. They support 1-1 and do all they can to help you get the grade. Really good, plenty of pubs around and they do deals like £1 drinks on Tuesdays! Security are hot on it, and the PSCOs are there too.

Business and Management Studies, Graduate

University was the time of my life were I found myself as a person and as a human being. I learnt about talents I didn't even know I had, I learnt how to become a better person socially aswel as mentally. It's amazing how 3 years can shape a person life experiences and develop them for the rest of there life. University will always be the place we're I learnt to love myself and never doubt my decisions because doubting yourself means stopping yourself from excelling.

Film, Year 1

I've thoroughly enjoyed my experience so far. All the lecturers are knowledgable and easy to approach. They are willing to help you out, and the same goes for the student centre and support staff. All of the equipment is up to date, and the classrooms are clean and modern. The students are friendly and always willing to help out the Year 1s. All the events at the student union are free to attend and the money you spend there goes straight back into the student union and isn't profiting the university. I love it at Bucks New Uni and would recommend it to anyone.

Proactive SU, great lecturers and very helpful Disability Service

(4.8)·By zoe a·Building / Construction· Oct 2018
I've had the best time here! It's like a little community, so everyone is really friendly and fun. Everyone knows everyone and you have the option of getting involved with the uni itself, doing things like improving student services and being part of the clubs and societies. I liked the fact we had lots of chances to get paid, as you could win stuff for filling out questionnaires or actually earn money doing open days or admin. The night life here isn't so good, so most people spend a lot of time in the SU, which does Frat house Wed for sports teams, Flirt Friday, comedy nights, acoustic nights, and weekly quizzes. It's good too, because it's all free! Team sports are a big thing here, regardless of which sport and how good you are, you'll get the chance to do it. If the SU doesn't already offer the sport you want, you can work with them to set it up. I was really impressed with the lecturers here, as the teaching is brilliant and they always answer your emails, sometimes setting up one-to-one tuition when needed. You can literally just pop into their office to have a chat! I can also say from experience that the Disability Service is good, as they gave me a free dyslexia test and then I got additional tuition and extra time in exams; they are a very helpful department and made my time at university much easier.

It was so much fun! The student union do lots of events and activities you can participate in. I lived at home but stayed over in halls quite often. Uni accommodation is great for socialising too. Library is huge and you can request any books, magazines... you want. The studio I worked in was a dream, very spacious and colourful, perfect for a creative course (one of the reasons I chose this uni was the ambience). The students union has lots of extra activities going on (another reason why I picked Bucks since I'm an avid climber) including any sports you can imagine, clubs, weekly events... It's an open minded space and your ideas don't get rejected but more like discussed and improved. They don't shut down your creativity and it's a very organic atmosphere. There's lots of shops and it's all in walking distance. I did spent most of my student life at uni or spoons (which is right next to uni

Really good, supportive place to study :)

(4.5)·By aimee c·Celtic Studies· Oct 2018
The teachers are brilliant, because they're always happy to help us out, which was particularly good in the first week when we were all pretty nervous! Once you've got your bearings, campus is easy to get around and the Student Union is really good considering the Big Deal has sports and evening stuff you can do for free. The library had what we needed and I always got a computer when I wanted one. I was a bit worried about the gym as I'm a bit overweight and thought it would be full of gym addicts, but actually it's open to the public, so there are all sorts of people there. There are loads of options if you want to work while you study and the employment at Uni itself (I am a student Ambassador) is excellent - my managers have been really supportive.
