Proactive SU, great lecturers and very helpful Disability Service
(4.8)·By zoe a·Building / Construction· Oct 2018 I've had the best time here! It's like a little community, so everyone is really friendly and fun. Everyone knows everyone and you have the option of getting involved with the uni itself, doing things like improving student services and being part of the clubs and societies. I liked the fact we had lots of chances to get paid, as you could win stuff for filling out questionnaires or actually earn money doing open days or admin. The night life here isn't so good, so most people spend a lot of time in the SU, which does Frat house Wed for sports teams, Flirt Friday, comedy nights, acoustic nights, and weekly quizzes. It's good too, because it's all free! Team sports are a big thing here, regardless of which sport and how good you are, you'll get the chance to do it. If the SU doesn't already offer the sport you want, you can work with them to set it up. I was really impressed with the lecturers here, as the teaching is brilliant and they always answer your emails, sometimes setting up one-to-one tuition when needed. You can literally just pop into their office to have a chat! I can also say from experience that the Disability Service is good, as they gave me a free dyslexia test and then I got additional tuition and extra time in exams; they are a very helpful department and made my time at university much easier.
