**As a childrens nurse youll care for children and their families, placing their wellbeing at the centre of everything you do. Youll learn how to care for infants, children, young people and their families in a holistic manner.**<br/><br/>Our Child Nursing course will develop your theoretical and practical knowledge and skills from day one, so that you have the experience and confidence to become a competent, compassionate and sustainable practitioner.<br/><br/>Youll spend 50% of your time at university and 50% of your time in placements across a variety of settings, including hospitals, schools and in the community. Youll be able to develop your practical learning in the safe environment of our simulations suites, which include fully equipped wards with simulation models.<br/><br/>**Professional accreditation**<br/>This course is subject to a conjoint approval between the University and the Nursing and Midwifery Council. All regulated courses, once approved, are subject to ongoing monitoring processes and periodic approval by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). To be eligible to apply for registration with the relevant statutory regulatory body you must demonstrate good health and good character throughout your studies and on completion. Applications for professional registration will be subject to satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and Occupational Health clearance.<br/><br/>**Specialist facilities**<br/>As a healthcare student, you will have access to our specialist, industry-relevant, simulation facilities at Canterbury and Medway campuses. These simulation suites allow you to practise hands-on skills in a fully-equipped, realistic hospital environment.<br/><br/>**Please note:** This course is subject to approval by the NMC.<br/><br/>**Location**<br/>Canterbury<br/>Canterbury is just 50 miles south-east of London and less than an hour by high-speed train from St Pancras. Located on a UNESCO World Heritage Site the campus offers state-of-the-art buildings, right in the centre of a vibrant and world-famous cathedral city. You’ll benefit from a campus with excellent learning and teaching resources, music venues, a superb sports centre, a well-stocked bookshop and plenty of coffee bars and places to eat. A short walk away is Augustine House our award-winning library and home to a vast range of learning resources and student support teams.<br/><br/>Medway<br/>Our Medway Campus is located near to The Historic Dockyard Chatham in Kent. Rochester is also close by with its beautiful cathedral and buzzing high street. The campus has a unique atmosphere, with its long-standing reputation for excellence in Health and Social Care, Education and the Early Years. Nearby is a student-friendly quarter with a multiplex cinema, a shopping centre and a fully equipped sports centre. The campus is part of Universities at Medway, which is made up of three universities: CCCU, the University of Kent and the University of Greenwich, so you’ll be part of a vibrant student campus with plenty of facilities.
