MDes Games Design Master of Design - MDes

MDes Games Design (Master's of Design) is a specialist creative postgraduate award designed to develop games industry leaders who can bridge creative innovation with commercial game development. This professional design qualification emphasises leadership capabilities while developing advanced technical skills in game design and development. By the end of this degree, you will be equipped to lead development teams, contribute and help manage complex game projects, and make strategic decisions in the global games industry.

MDes Games Design shares specialist practice modules with our MA Games Design, but these programmes serve fundamentally different purposes. MA qualifications support students to develop advanced skills as a games design practitioner, perfecting craft and deepening creative practice. MDes qualifications support you in becoming a games industry leader—learning to direct, manage, and strategically position game development within studios and commercial contexts. If you want to lead development teams, manage productions, direct creative vision, and make strategic decisions that shape the industry, MDes Games Design is for you.
