Art / Design, Year 2

(4)·By Jade C·Art· Jul 2021
We did not have an in person one this year, however they offered a lot of different things to do online instead Very good, they have a lot of different campuses for accommodation The facilities are great. The library is massive and the classrooms are decent-sized as well. The main campus also has its own coffee shop The teachers were always extremely understanding and were always happen to re-explain things if students were struggling Quite fun! Lots of shopping, quite a different atmosphere. It was nice being able to walk around it whilst on lunch breaks

Film, Year 2

(4)·By Mirabel I·Film· Apr 2019
It was great, felt like i’d knew the people i was working with all my life. I’d made so many friends even though i feared because i was the only one of my friends that picked to study here.

I dont belive they have an accomdation, me and the new people ive met live off campus. No one i know or talked to has ever mentioned to me about being accomodated by cardiff and vale

The library and classrooms are of high standard most times. Some times there is low level distruption in the libary but it is usually sorted out within a fee minutes. I dont not usually study at the library

I wasn’t very sure about what i wanted to do before i entered University, film making was just something that skimmed my mind. After stating this course i feel as if it has opened my eyes to what is really involved and I definitely want a future in film making now

City life was no different, i grew up in the city, i lived here all my life

Film isn’t for everybody but if you are sure it is something you wamt to do you should persue it.

Self-Directed

(3.3)·By Morgan J·Art· May 2025
I attended the Art Foundation course in 2023/2024 for UCAS credits to go on to uni, and found often that I'd ask for help, be promised it, and then had to sort it out myself. I had never worked with clay before so I asked the clay specialist tutor to help me know how to start, she promised to help me later that day, and when I went down she wasn't there even after waiting for an hour. We rescheduled, said she'd help, then she was busy with another class but would "come get me in an hour." she never came up so I went down, still busy, said she couldn't help me that day. I tried a third time but knew where this was going and low and behold I had to learn to throw and sculpt by myself. It took weeks of asking to be told the printing process for an etching and even then it was only when it was 17:30, an hour and a half after class ended.

Same course, end of year, leader of the course lost my books, my final pieces, and my A1 folder full of work, some of which was from A-Level. How do you lose an A1 folder? It's giant! It's heavy! She said she'd look for it and email me, three months go by with no email, so I go back there and she says oh we're too busy with setting up the new year, but here are your books. Great! I say "ok well when you can please look for it because it has A-Level work and my final pieces I spent weeks and some nights without sleeping working on, and I don't want it to get binned, and email me." I wait and wait and wait and then I'm busy with my uni work, and I go back in May 2025 and say "Where is my work? It's been months. You never emailed me." she says she hasn't looked and can't now because they're setting up for the end of year show and that "Aaron sorted the folders, it's probably gone, forget about it." That's MY art! How can my folder be the only one that disappears, and yet when emptying them no one goes "oh yes that's the missing work I have been asked about 3 times."

If you are unable to figure out things you've never done before alone, I don't recommend. There's also a mandatory english and maths test you have to waste time on all year if you haven't done a similar thing in college that they don't tell you about.

I am heartbroken at the loss of and carelessness with my art, it is irreplaceable and if I had known how often things are lost I would not have left my folder there to be marked. I still don't even know if it's just lost and they don't care or if it has been binned, but either way the lack of communication with me and between staff members has cost me some of my best work.

Other, Year 1

Even though I'm in college I find my experience at quite a good level at the moment. I am enjoying the course I'm doing and I also really like my tutors, they give me great help and advice and are making my experience in college worthwhile

I used to be a teacher

(2)·By Piers J·Computing· Apr 2025
I used to work as a teacher in a Cantonese high school, but greedy capitalists forced me to change jobs by offering better pay terms. and to be honest, I'm truly regretthis desition because I really miss my students espesially the one which looked like actuall gorila and 2 his always skiny friends. To be honest, after I became a teacher in this college, my life was taken away from me, I felt empty without my beloved students

Terrible liars

(1)·By jay m·Accounting· Sep 2023
They lied to me through out the end of my year and when i went to enroll mid august the teacher who i was talking to about my situation with college and how it’s affected my maths but i was told to i can do it and pay for it the next year was so rude to me having another convocation over me talking telling me she doesn’t care when i asked did i pass whole college is rude they think they can talk down on people just because we are young it’s disrespectful would never recommend anyone to go there them teachers r too old to be talking to college students like we’re their kids. Teacher showed disrespect out of no where and it happened to my friend aswell they pick and choose who they want to pass and want to keep in the college my friend needed her english (she had a grade D but wanted a higher grade) to go to the next level but then let another girl we know who’s never got her english through there weird very weird college isn’t for the people who care about their future they have done this to me twice my whole college experience made me HATE it so much having to try and sort my college out again because they don’t listen and don’t care is stressful!
