It is ideally suited to progressing product design undergraduates and for those who are considering a change of direction within art, design and technology-based disciplines.<br/>• Explore emerging technologies and learn how technology can be embedded into your designs, while considering their impact according to sustainability principles and standards.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Learn to empathise with diverse humans and cultures, designing for user experiences that address physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Understand key principles of sustainable design and ecology, including systemic thinking, circular design, biophilic design, and biomimetics.<br/><br/><br/><br/><strong>Why you should study this course:</strong><br/><br/><br/>• Drive innovation: challenge conventions and drive innovation in response to emerging themes and contexts at the forefront of product design innovation in an interdisciplinary and collaborative learning environment.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Lead with insight: conduct creative, independent research and critical analysis and apply insights across varied future design innovation contexts for continuing professional development.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Design human-centred solutions: apply critical and analytical skills to create complex, original artefacts, services or projects in product design innovation that engage diverse audiences.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Collaborative learning spaces: get access to shared teaching and learning spaces that enable conversations between different disciplines. Mac and PC labs are installed with access to the latest versions of the Adobe suites while workshop facilities include wood, plastic, ceramic, glass and print tools.<br/><br/><br/><br/>• Build an industry-based portfolio: industry collaboration offers design briefs and feedback in the context of real-life problems, helping you develop a professional design portfolio. Previous collaborations have included WSP, National Centre of Accessible Transport, Owen Mumford, Bugatti Trust and Compton Verney. <br/><br/><br/><br/>**Collaborations<br/>Endorsement: Royal Society for Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA)**<br/>Coventry University and the RSA have collaborated on a module concerning social and ethical responsibility. You will be entitled to a 12-month fellowship of the RSA so you can access all RSA resources and platforms during your period of study.
