Education / Teacher Training, Year 2

Freshers week was fun and relaxing. There were many events that went on, not just partying. There were more calm events during the day, like movie viewings, and then really fun parties at night. The accomodation was amazing. I had an en-suite, and the room's were a decent size. I had a flat of 6 and we had cleaners and really good facilities to use. When compared to other University accomodations, ours seemed to be a step up. The library is really big and has different floors which have different levels of 'quiet'. This makes it really good for silent, independent study, as well as group projects and tasks. The SU is great, there's an on campus bar and club, as well as Subway and laundry room which is accessible. My course is engaging because of the teachers, and my peers. Lessons are fun and interactive, and the teachers genuinely care about you and your wellbeing, and will do anything to keep you happy. The lectures for me were well spaced out, so I had time for class and myself too. Ormskirk is a quiet city centre but that's what I wanted to be around. It is a really nice, safe and small town, with a lot to still do. There are many restaurants and entertainment facilities to choose from, and there is something for everyone. Everything is a short walk away too which makes it accessible.

English, Year 1

My experience has been incredible so far. There's been so much organised by the Students Union such as meeting Muggy Mike and The Beast from the Chase, a Roller Disco (I learnt very quickly that I am not a natural skater), a themed Geek Party and more! In my course the tutors have been welcoming and encouraging, and I have learnt a lot already! In my accommodation I have met the best people I could've asked for. The quality of the accommodation is impeccable, as is the campus, of which I have a wonderful view from our communal kitchen in our block. The adorable ducks are the best part of course.

So far my university experience has went above and beyond my expectations. The course is spectacular, the tutors are so supportive and I couldn't have asked for better flat mates.

Law / Legal Studies, Year 2

It was great. I met people from different areas of the UK. I met my best friend who I have competed in moot competitions with. Furnished well and clean. Easy to find when starting at uni. Very accommodating by the staff if there are any issues. Homely. The library is brand new and is so nice to be in, definitely my favourite place to study. The classrooms are spacious and comfortable. The sports areas are great! I love the gym and so glad I got a membership. The student union is great! Very kind and all about students! So interesting to learn about the law as it changes and gets updated! The cases are so interesting too. The lecturers are so good at helping. And the work isn't too bad either... Ormskirk is a little town but it is very homely. The essentials are there and it's not far from liverpool at all! That means you get the best of both, with only a short train trip to liverpool.

Freshers was fantastic. I met so many people a like me. Highly recommend engaging Clean, cheap and comfortable beds All facilities were absolutely fantastic. It just misses a snooker table The lecturers was cheerful and want the best out of you Ormskirk is a small but joyful town. Plenty of pubs and food places

Brilliant freshers week. Lots of lively bars and places to go. Close to Liverpool too. Immaculate accommodation, perfect and averagely priced. Amazing new library, sports centre and lively students union. Course tutors appreciate stress and workload, are friendly and well educated Small but has plenty of bars and nightlife, still a large student scene

Freshers week was brilliant it allowed me to meet people in the university on my course and other courses and understand what the environment was like on campus outside of education I did not live at edge hill accommodation but a lot of my friends did and I stayed a few times, it always seemed so clean and fresh and well looked after and if I were to do uni again I would definitely stay there first year The library was fantastic with all kinds of facilities to accommodate my studies, the classrooms were always brilliant and set the tone for learning, sports areas were the best I've ever seen and could not fault and the student union was a fun and welcoming place Helped me develop as a PE teacher and pursue my dream. They were suited to develop and help learn in various ways Ormskirk is brilliant, I only live 10 minutes away but I'm always down there when possible

Freshers week was great! There was so much available to students including the freshers fair. This was a great way to see all the clubs and societies that were on offer to join. There was also lots of nighttime events including a foam and UV party The accommodation at edge hill us of very high standard. It was very good value for money and I felt very safe on campus. There are lots of different options to cater to students' needs regrading money and personal references. The library (also known as the catalyst) is very remarkable with state of the art facilities on offer to students. There are so many work spaces and there are lots of books and journals available to students too. The students union is also very reasonably priced and offers events regularly for students including a pub quiz. The course contains lots of different modules that cover lots of different areas. This helps me to know what areas are my strong point and also which areas need work and improvement. The tutors are very helpful too. Ormskirk contains all the essential elements of university life ranging from supermarkets to bars. The train also only takes 30 minutes to either preston or Liverpool which is where you can find more shops for personal items. There always seems like plenty to do in and around Ormskirk
