Amazing support

(5)·By Lydia B·Nursing· Jun 2023
Lovely community feel at the university, lots of groups and societies for everyone. Everything you need is on campus and feels very safe. The support from staff was above and beyond to help you achieve your best, giving feedback, personal support and advice. I couldn't have achieved what I did without them all, such an amazing Uni and would love to return for further study. Amazing facilities to support academic learning, from a cosy library to high tech healthcare stimulation centre to prepare for placement and exams. Interesting and interactive courses, even throughout covid lockdowns, using NHS service users to support our learning and to make our exams realistic. Good career advice and help finding and applying for jobs after Uni.

Law / Legal Studies, Year 2

(5)·By Phoebe W·Law· Jul 2021
It was great. I met people from different areas of the UK. I met my best friend who I have competed in moot competitions with. Furnished well and clean. Easy to find when starting at uni. Very accommodating by the staff if there are any issues. Homely. The library is brand new and is so nice to be in, definitely my favourite place to study. The classrooms are spacious and comfortable. The sports areas are great! I love the gym and so glad I got a membership. The student union is great! Very kind and all about students! So interesting to learn about the law as it changes and gets updated! The cases are so interesting too. The lecturers are so good at helping. And the work isn't too bad either... Ormskirk is a little town but it is very homely. The essentials are there and it's not far from liverpool at all! That means you get the best of both, with only a short train trip to liverpool.

Freshers was fantastic. I met so many people a like me. Highly recommend engaging Clean, cheap and comfortable beds All facilities were absolutely fantastic. It just misses a snooker table The lecturers was cheerful and want the best out of you Ormskirk is a small but joyful town. Plenty of pubs and food places

So far my university experience has went above and beyond my expectations. The course is spectacular, the tutors are so supportive and I couldn't have asked for better flat mates.

Iv'e had one of the best experiences with Edge Hill University. Whenever i had a problem i knew exactly where to go and who to contact because of the information given at the start. They will get back to me as soon as possible and give me advice or help me with what to do with my application

Education / Teacher Training, Year 2

(5)·By Jenna P·Education / Teacher Training· Jul 2021
Freshers week was fun and relaxing. There were many events that went on, not just partying. There were more calm events during the day, like movie viewings, and then really fun parties at night. The accomodation was amazing. I had an en-suite, and the room's were a decent size. I had a flat of 6 and we had cleaners and really good facilities to use. When compared to other University accomodations, ours seemed to be a step up. The library is really big and has different floors which have different levels of 'quiet'. This makes it really good for silent, independent study, as well as group projects and tasks. The SU is great, there's an on campus bar and club, as well as Subway and laundry room which is accessible. My course is engaging because of the teachers, and my peers. Lessons are fun and interactive, and the teachers genuinely care about you and your wellbeing, and will do anything to keep you happy. The lectures for me were well spaced out, so I had time for class and myself too. Ormskirk is a quiet city centre but that's what I wanted to be around. It is a really nice, safe and small town, with a lot to still do. There are many restaurants and entertainment facilities to choose from, and there is something for everyone. Everything is a short walk away too which makes it accessible.

Brilliant freshers week. Lots of lively bars and places to go. Close to Liverpool too. Immaculate accommodation, perfect and averagely priced. Amazing new library, sports centre and lively students union. Course tutors appreciate stress and workload, are friendly and well educated Small but has plenty of bars and nightlife, still a large student scene

Sports / Sports Science, Graduate

Amazing. So much fun and loads to do. I loved my accommodation, very modern and so spacious. Was in my budget, but every year the price increases and I would t be able to afford it now. Security are good too. The new library the catalyst is really good, I like that you can be in your own room and you can book areas out, the book selection is extensive. Classrooms and lecture theatres were of a good standard. Sports facilities are great and there's always lots of activities on. The student union is good, there's a bar area and a club, which was always busy. In first year especially the course was really good. I learnt so much on the course from my lectures and seminars. My lecturers were very knowledgeable and always put together interesting and valuable sessions, both theory and practical based. The campus had a really nice homely feel to it and has a shop, gym and bar/club so when living on campus there wasn't much need to leave it. Off campus in the town centre of ormskirk was lovely too, not huge like cities but had all of the shops, supermarkets and other things you may need. Liverpool is only 25 mins by train and the tickets are very cheap too!
