Psychology / Criminology, Year 2

(3.8)·By Rochell M·Psychology· Jul 2021
It was good, obviously not the same as usual freshers but it gave a chance to meet new people and others in your course and get a sense of the new style of learning There is no accommodation at the far borough college of technology. I stay at home and travel back and forth there The library is really good, there's lots of resources and you can take the books out of the library. There are also laptops and computers available. The classrooms are also really big which is good and makes it feel more comfortable. There's a good cafe and a Costa coffee!! The fact that there are less people in the classroom enable you to get the help needed. The teachers are always willing to help. The courses are also very challenging which is quite good as it means you gain new skills. The town in farnborough is very small and more like a village so I don't really explore there that much. I go to town to eat but not to do anything else

Even a cleaner can have you excluded from the college

(1)·By Josh A·Computing· Oct 2023
Let me get straight to it. This is a racist college predominantly created for only those within the Farnborough/Aldershot area. I have never been in a place with no bearing before and this college would help you reevaluate your life.

While studying at this college, I was arrested and held in prison for more than 2 months. This was over a fabrication made by a man that was supposedly known to them and the Police. I suspect most of the people working at the college to have connections within law enforcement and can have you arrested just like that without a crime committed.

While I was in prison, I recall speaking to a man called..., it was from this point I concluded how racist the college was, because the man knew much about the case and had the nerve to say I had always been in trouble with the law but how do I defend myself against a racist I had shared a home with.

Everything about this college is fraudulent- how do you complete your studies in June and wait till October to graduate? The subsequent months after June are mainly used to augment student grades and as you can imagine, getting a first class is not tough at this college. Show up in shorts to exam halls and clutch coffee cups like you already work in Cali......

They had a lecturer who taught Computing for 20 odd years and only left recently. Not only did the man manage to pad all grades for his own boys, he appears to be very punitive and as said previously, everyone at this college wields some form of fake power.

After returning from Prison as I had committed no crime, it all made sense to say I was held in prison as they did not know what to do with me anymore after they had collected 8k from student finance and pretty much wanted me gone.

The saddest part is that, I tried to check my college email to retrieve important emails, surprisingly they have terminated my email and cannot gain access. I have studied at other institutions where you would usually get a warning email with a date to collate all your important items.

Go on to their Facebook page and check the amount of Black faces you can see in a 21st century college. It was after I made a snide remark they featured a few black faces. Although, they happen to be falsely promoting 'Blackness' through holding small talks with Stephen Lawrence's image on show in the background.

If you are not from Farnborough or Aldershot, please do not attend this college. My advice to you is to find a learning provider and study via distance learning where you can do exceedingly well. The world has gone past signing up to study just to make friends. If you know your onion and stand your ground at this college, you would be sincerely hated by both the students and lecturers.

I had gone in once to use the library, to my amazement a cleaner would not vacate my area as if I was busy doing something else. After packing up to leave, I made a stop at the reception- the same cleaner was right at the door looking towards my direction. That act does not reflect likeness, but a thing they all do at the College.

I had been on course for a first class until they realized that my final year project was about developing a system within the healthcare sector and this was when they concluded on how to deal with me.

Since returning from prison, I have been getting treatments both from the council and others like a first class criminal even though the whole time I was studying to better my own life.

After paying 8k with a choice to attend graduation or not, they have made it their own god given rights to deactivate my email while I cannot make enquiry to book graduation tickets. God is great and the emotional stress would surely be served around them and their family.

It appears the lecturers are poorly paid after seeing one wearing a suit from about 5 years ago and takes pride in being a Games Lead while studying for a doctorate. You can imagine the joke.

I had signed up on the course to get further in life, if I had known the cohort were men of extra abilities, I would have thought differently and studied elsewhere.

The Black principal at the college is absolutely nothing but a figure head. If you want to be chased around for not wearing a college lanyard, then this college is for you.

Avoid at all costs

(1)·By James I·Engineering· Aug 2023
If you want to attend a terrible school, this is the place for you!

I am currently on year 4 of a 3 year apprenticeship provided by Farnborough College of Technology. This is through no fault of my own, but through the fault of the college.

The level of teaching is terrible, the staff turnover is baffling, and the course management is horrific. After constant emails and questions and requests to teachers and other members of staff, I was finally given an assessor along with all NVQ work at the end of the third year of my three year apprenticeship.

Not only this, but half of the students in my class throughout my time at this college were told one month from the end of the course, that they were on the wrong course. The college has never apologised for this and I know for a fact that this same thing has happened to the previous three years of apprentices.

If you are a parent or employer reading these reviews, my advice would be to look elsewhere. Sending anyone to farnborough college is a waste of both time and money. A better education can be found within a public library at a dramatically reduced cost.

If I could give this institution 0 stars I would. I discourage everyone I speak to from sending anyone to this college. It is absolutely terrible.

I attended for 2 years in total, including during Covid lockdowns. I have an EHCP for severe learning difficulties. I did not receive the provision that the college was legally obliged to provide me with. The SENCo (Mary Campbell) openly discriminated against me and the principle (Virginia Barrett) sent a letter to my parents telling them that I would not be allowed to return to college if I did not do lateral flow tests or where a mask (both of which I was exempt from having to do). This is illegal. There is a severe lack of SEN provision at this college. Lots of other students have said that they have had the same experience.
