My uni experience has been great so far, I have made many friends that I will keep in contact with over the years. The teaching is excellent and is really setting me up for my placement year. I would definitely recommend the uni to everyone!

Animal Science, Graduate

Freshers was engaging and exciting. It really got us all into the Harper spirit and showed us how the university gets students to feel socially accepted and engaged. Harper accommodation is brilliant. It offers everything you need being on campus and close to amenities. It creates a sense of community and allows for inter hall rivalry New labs and up to date software means all course areas have what they need. The new vet building allows for the course to be modern. The library has everything to need as well as ample space to study and the addition of the working farm makes hands on experience easy to access Getting hands on in the course makes learning eaiser. Being able to go and see what the lecturers are talking about backs up information. Being in a small village you'd expect a smaller night life but the uni has great ties with the community and pubs. There always soemthing to do and the town is really welcoming to students

Agriculture, Graduate

Really good. 14 days of drinking and getting to know everyone. There was a different theme each night and different challenges to complete Adequate. I think more people are catered in first year which works really well and the food is pretty good to Facilities are perfect. All really modern and everything you could need It's a small uni so it feel very personal when talking to lectures. Most of them know your name and will do anything to help. It's not in a city so there was no city life. It is in newport and there are plenty of pubs and a club

Amazing, plenty to do and an event every evening for 2 weeks. Great time Perfect for first year students. Rooms quite small for self catering but big enough Brilliant. No problems using them and lots of space for everyone The course is very practical and hands on before corona virus Quite quiet - Newport isn't the biggest town

Business Studies, Year 2

Amazing fun, was able to meet a wide range of people from across the UK and studying different courses. Made lots of new friends who I have stayed in contact with over the last four years and hope to continues after graduating in September

Good quality rooms, and good facilities. I was in self catered accommodation and so really enjoyed being able to cook my own food and discover new dishes to try and cook. Having a cleaner twice a week and having our washing done too once a week really made it feel like a home from home.

Library has a huge range of books suiting to various different courses. Varying sizes of lecture halls and seminar rooms all in good condition. Two rugby pitches used every week for training and matches. Hockey Astro also used every week for both men and women’s teams. SU night is Wednesday and is always a fun evening.

Throughout the four years all lectures have been relevant and interesting. Has broadened my knowledge of the agricultural, marketing and business sectors of the UK and global economies. Amazing lecturers and course leaders happy to talk to you whenever you need them and want to help you to do well.

University is in the middle of the countryside so “city life” is non-existent. The countryside life is peaceful and like home from home. I couldn’t imagine going to university anywhere else. Perfectly suited to me.

First year gets everyone on the same page agriculturally, businesslike and marketing. Bare with, in second and final year you are able to “specialise” more being able to choose a module or two allowing you to gain relevant experience to suit your career aspirations. During 3rd year you’re on placement doing something you want to do, learning first hand the industry you want to go into

No university could beat the enthusiasm and how friendly the people are here! There's a brilliant nightlife at Harper, as well as clubs and societies to suit everyone. The student accommodation is just fantastic and it's cool, because both campus and the surrounding area have everything - Newport and Telford are both pretty close otherwise. The staff and support system have been incredibly helpful, and we're lucky to have a beautiful campus.

The sense of family is amazing and everyone is included in everything. You can speak to lecturers whenever you want about lectures, assignments etc. The placement opportunities give you experience in a workplace and increase your employability.
