This uni has been so supportive with my mental health and provide amazing help. The course and teachers as well make going into uni fun and not boring. They also let us balance out independent studying and face to face learning. All is recorded and uploaded so no one falls behind.

Leeds Arts University provided brilliant courses and staff and an environment that was incredibly easy to settle into. The university has a vibrant social life and brilliant quality of education. I would definitely recommend Leeds Arts.

Art / Design, Graduate

Feel like freshers week could have been more eventful, was much going on in the uni itself but plenty going on at 02 and in lots of the venues near-by. Following years seemed better but not in the year I started. Everyone was recommended Liberty park as best accommodation nearby. To be honest, I loved Liberty park and the fact it was all college of art students when I was there made it feel more comfortable as it was familiar faces. Couldn't fault it other than maybe slightly dated. They refurbed after the flood which was better. Well at the time it was very small but had everything you needed. Now has a huge extension since being changed to Leeds arts university which looks amazing. Only had one lecture a week which was sufficient and seminars were also once a week. The course allowed us to be very flexible and free to enhance creativity and on surface pattern we had a great studio for inspiration with our own work spaces. I chose this uni over others purely for the studio space. Miss Leeds so much. Such a city person and it was constantly buzzing and lively which I love. Full of students but that's what I loved about it. My town is full of old people so such a nice change.

Art / Design, Year 3

Brilliant, there was lots to do, everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was very welcoming. It helped me feel like I fitted right in. Accomodation was also great, if there were any problems the issue would be resolved pretty much straight away In the first year I was studying at the old building, we didn't have our own workspace area but there was a lot of room in and around the university to work and get creative. The library was my favourite as was the print room. I most enjoyed the print room as there was always drop in availability. In the second year we moved to the new building, our studio was beautiful, spacious and had everything we needed as a post graduate student. The new library in the new building was also grand, there were so many study rooms and study places I couldn't complain. The great thing about my course was the tutors and the facilities. The tutors pushed us to do better and always thought of us when an opportunity came up that we would work well with. I love Leeds in general but studying there had many more perks. Everything is at hand, great places to eat, great places to chill out and shop

Freshers week was amazing, met tons of new people who were able to relate with me on adjusting to University life Hepworth Lodge (known as Liberty Leeds whilst I was there) was a really good place to stay. I felt safe with 24/7 security and any problems I had were resolved immediately. Everything was kept clean and organised at all times, student union was always lively, the library had so many resources Tutors were always available for support, since my course was very practical based there was always at least two tutors to talk to and lead the classes Leeds city life is great, filled with students from Leeds Uni and Leeds Beckett and other educational places

Fine Art, Year 2

It was great! It was an experience I'll never forget, the night life in Leeds is amazing. It's was very clean and well organised! It was safe and had full time security. All the facilities are top notch quality, the library is full of brilliant resources and the student union is always helpful and supportive. It allows the students to be creative and independent with the appropriate amount of support. There are always workshops on to further our skills and the tutors are very easy to talk to. It's fast but not too fast, it can be an adjustment at first but it's easy to fall in love with.

Art and design, Year 1

So far my university experience has been amazing! My tutor are so good and helpful and they really know what they're talking about. I feel the tutors will help me understand and improve my practice over the next 3 years. I am already improving and understanding more. The university has great resources and facilities as well as great staff. My accomodation is very good, the rooms are large and have more than enough storage space. We have our own washing machine as well which saves so much money. The accomodation is very close to university which is so handy.

Amazing!

(4.8)·By Charys F·Art· Jun 2023
I had such a lovely experience, my final year was through covid and I felt very supported by staff/lecturers. Google meeting calls were at least once a week with 1-1 meeting with lecturers for support. I felt a good mix between feeling independent and also not being too lonely or left to suffer from not being able to go into university as much. Library staff & workshop staff were so helpful to make sure we could still do as much work as possible from home. The university itself was an amazing hub for creativity.
