Art / Design, Graduate

Feel like freshers week could have been more eventful, was much going on in the uni itself but plenty going on at 02 and in lots of the venues near-by. Following years seemed better but not in the year I started. Everyone was recommended Liberty park as best accommodation nearby. To be honest, I loved Liberty park and the fact it was all college of art students when I was there made it feel more comfortable as it was familiar faces. Couldn't fault it other than maybe slightly dated. They refurbed after the flood which was better. Well at the time it was very small but had everything you needed. Now has a huge extension since being changed to Leeds arts university which looks amazing. Only had one lecture a week which was sufficient and seminars were also once a week. The course allowed us to be very flexible and free to enhance creativity and on surface pattern we had a great studio for inspiration with our own work spaces. I chose this uni over others purely for the studio space. Miss Leeds so much. Such a city person and it was constantly buzzing and lively which I love. Full of students but that's what I loved about it. My town is full of old people so such a nice change.

Fine Art, Year 2

It was great! It was an experience I'll never forget, the night life in Leeds is amazing. It's was very clean and well organised! It was safe and had full time security. All the facilities are top notch quality, the library is full of brilliant resources and the student union is always helpful and supportive. It allows the students to be creative and independent with the appropriate amount of support. There are always workshops on to further our skills and the tutors are very easy to talk to. It's fast but not too fast, it can be an adjustment at first but it's easy to fall in love with.

Art / Design, Year 3

Brilliant, there was lots to do, everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was very welcoming. It helped me feel like I fitted right in. Accomodation was also great, if there were any problems the issue would be resolved pretty much straight away In the first year I was studying at the old building, we didn't have our own workspace area but there was a lot of room in and around the university to work and get creative. The library was my favourite as was the print room. I most enjoyed the print room as there was always drop in availability. In the second year we moved to the new building, our studio was beautiful, spacious and had everything we needed as a post graduate student. The new library in the new building was also grand, there were so many study rooms and study places I couldn't complain. The great thing about my course was the tutors and the facilities. The tutors pushed us to do better and always thought of us when an opportunity came up that we would work well with. I love Leeds in general but studying there had many more perks. Everything is at hand, great places to eat, great places to chill out and shop

Art and design, Year 1

So far my university experience has been amazing! My tutor are so good and helpful and they really know what they're talking about. I feel the tutors will help me understand and improve my practice over the next 3 years. I am already improving and understanding more. The university has great resources and facilities as well as great staff. My accomodation is very good, the rooms are large and have more than enough storage space. We have our own washing machine as well which saves so much money. The accomodation is very close to university which is so handy.

I'm getting everything I could have wanted out of university and more, the tutors are exceptionally approachable and willing to help with anything, my peers are friendly and inspiring and the city of Leeds is making me so motivated to go out and shoot (photography).

Design, Year 2

Super fun! The union sorted out loads of activities and meet-ups!! I lived off sight, in a place called mar fern house however the Leeds arts accommodation is really nice and attracts a nice crowd! Library is huge, facilities for fashion design are really good with a machine each and 4 rooms between 3 years! The lectures went into detail fully and all the lecturers are super friendly. Not nasty or rude, youll feel really comfortable and not scared to ask anything Leeds is an amazing city. Fill of life and students and the shopping and food scene is incredible. You can never not be busy

Fine Art, Graduate

It was good because the university informed students about events through Facebook It was recommended by Leeds arts to go with either Carlton Hill or Liberty Park. Although this was expensive, it was all Leeds arts students so it was good to get to know people who were also on creative courses. It was all great. Leeds arts is on the smaller side but the intimacy allowed for closer relationships and opportunities with staff The passionate lecturers. My fine art course was run by very talented and Inspiring artists There's always something going on in Leeds. I could always find somewhere to go and something interesting to be inspired by.

It was good. Since I don't drink so much I enjoyed the other events offered by the union. I liked my accommodation I felt safe and happy there. I now enjoy my uni house as it's in a nice part of leeds and live with my friends Everything was clean and easy access to equipment I got a lot of information about the industry and learning how to explore our art to suit the industry we will be going into I think Leeds is a wonderful city full of art. The city centre is small but full of wonderful things. It isn't overwhelming and a lot of people here are nice
