Journalism, Year 2

I lived in student accommodation called St Luke’s View which I loved. It was right in the town centre with a shop across the road. I didn’t get a single taxi to nights out as everything was in walking distance. The accommodation was brand new so everything was super clean and nice. Went on to live with two of my flat mates in second year

The library is really good and was close to my accommodation. You just scan your university ID to get in and if you forget it you can sign in. The library usually has empty seats unless it’s exam time then it does get pretty busy. The library has all the books you need and it’s really easy to find them on the online library section of the website. The SU ish shares with Univeristy of Liverpool and Liverpool Hope which is good as it gives you a chance to meet new people and the beers are cheap!

I chose my course in particular because I really don’t enjoy exams so I chose a more vocational course. The course is great because the university has all of the best wquipment and covers all aspects of journalism such as Broadcast, magazine and online journalism.

Liverpool is hands down my favourite city. The people are super friendly and I felt welcomed right away. The accommodation is all close to town and the univeristy itself is one alking distance from most accommodation. Nightlife is super cheap and always busy everyday of the week!

If you are a shy person unwilling to come out of your comfort zone then this course probably isn’t for you! The first week we had to go out in the city and get ‘vox pops’ (street surveys) this was daunting at first as you do get a lot of rejection but it is something you quickly get used to! The workload is bareable but it makes it a lot easier to work as you go along rather than waiting for the deadline to start (learnt this the hard way). All the lecturers are super understanding so make sure to ASK QUESTIONS if you are unsure and don’t be embarrassed to speak up in lectures!

It was absolutely amazing. I enjoyed every bit of it. The accommodation is great. I met some incredibly great people who I'm friends with now. All the facilities are close by. Very supportive environment. All the lecturers helped me throughout my undergraduate. City life in Liverpool is great. It has a very positive vibe to it.

Liverpool John Moored university

I am studying forensic science at Liverpool John moore university and currently in my second year. The course covers a wide variety of targets and the option of modules allows for selection of modules specific to your taste. As all unid it's tough and definitely not going to be a breeze and second test is very different to first year but I would still choose this uni over any others I was interested in. It's a large uni with multiple campuses and a selection of study areas and student support in different areas. Accommodation wise I am staying in private accommodation across from lime street station at grand central and would also recommend this accommodation. If you are thinking of horizon heights then yes if you can afford it but alot if people have moved from horizon to grand central for a cheaper and equal alternative

Business Studies / Management, Year 2

(5)·By Anna B·Business· Jul 2021
This years freshers week was almost inexistent at my university. We had online zoom sessions for introductions to the course, business school and university. However compared to freshers week last year there was nothing for the social aspect of the week. All of the events were restricted due to corona restrictions so wasn't the best could of definitely been improved. I was in accommodation last year at university and I loved it. The location of the my accommodation was perfect, in the city centre with a 5 minute walk to my university buildings and libraries. The staff that worked in the accommodation were lovely and so helpful, I felt extremely safe and would recommend it to anybody. Lastly, the actual building and layout was perfect I was in a flat of 9 people and loved every second of my time in accommodation. The facilities were brilliant my lecture theatres are modern and clean, making it easy to concentrate. The facilities were my seminars and tutorials were smaller and more fitted for the smaller groups. The student union wasn't a typical student union however they offered the needed services. I really enjoy my course, I find my lecturers very interesting they get all students involved helping us understand the content. I also believe the course content was well scheduled I never felt overwhelmed and with the help of tutors I've always managed to tackle all of my work. I also think that my course is good as it covers so many basics of business, I feel when I complete the course I'll have a excellent basis to help me enter almost any career path I wish. Liverpool has a brilliant city life, as it's quite a compact city everything is easily accessible and with everything you'd need being no more than 20 minute walk away. With so many shops, museums etc there's so many things to do in the day. The nightlife in Liverpool is the best! With a range of pubs, clubs and raves there's something for everyone.

Biological sciences, Year 1

Thus far, my University experience has been the absolute best- with the exception of being lost the first week. LJMU is very prideful in their abilities and their quality and standard prove to be exceptational yearly. The staff of Natural Sciences and Psychology are very heplful and informative. My lectures truly make learning engaing and creative. The Student Union has a wide variety of clubs to join and I am very proud to be a LJMU student and I wouldn't trade my uni for any other. Each day my love for my uni continues to grow.

Nursing, Year 2

Absolutely amazing, so much support available, not only within my course but other aspects such as financial aid. Lectures keep their sessions fun and engaging by allowing you to take part in then as a group and make you want to be there, and not think oh here again. Such good moral in my cohort of nurses.
