Greater Brighton Metropolitan College (MET) was created from the merger of City College Brighton and Northbrook College Sussex. It is the college for our city and our region and draws on 150 years of heritage, history and experience.<br><br>Greater Brighton Metropolitan College The MET offers a comprehensive range of qualifications for 16-year-olds leaving school, full and part-time courses for adults, apprenticeships, professional qualifications and university degrees. The MET operates across five campuses in Brighton, Shoreham and Worthing and teaches around 3,500 16-18-year-olds, 7,500 adult learners, 1,000 undergraduates and 800 apprentices. More than 1,000 expert staff work with our students to equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to prepare them for the world of work - to encourage, support and inspire them. The MET helps to build the self-belief, confidence and bravery our students need to meet and exceed their aspirations.<br><br>Northbrook Metropolitan College Northbrook MET is the principal provider of work-related further education in an area centred on the south coast town of Worthing. We are also the largest provider in West Sussex of undergraduate courses for the creative and cultural industries. The College additionally has contracts for Apprenticeship training, Adult and Community Learning and we provide courses in most work-related areas as well as those for personal development. Northbrook MET has two campuses in Worthing and a campus at Shoreham Airport.<br><br>Northbrook was formed in 1986 when the West Sussex College of Art and Design (founded 1912) merged with two other colleges: Worthing College of Technology and Chelsea College of Aeronautical Engineering (founded 1924).<br><br>The College has extensive well-equipped studios and workshops for design, craft and engineering courses. Other facilities include a professional theatre on campus, a working restaurant, a hair & beauty salon, an aircraft hangar and state-of-the-art recording studios.<br><br>The College offers a wide range of full and part-time courses from basic skills to degrees. Qualifications include trade and professional qualifications as well as pre-university diplomas and university degrees.
