Blended learning success

(5)·By Chloe O·Zoology· Jun 2023
My second year was mainly done online and blended learning, this was challenging for both students and lecturers. However through help and support for all of us it was successful and we all gained our qualification.

Journalism, Year 2

It was good fun. Lots of choice of things to get involved in. Very sociable. I didn't stay in it personally but I've seen my friend's and it seems up to a good standard. Clean, tidy and spacious. Really good facilities. Huge library which is helpful. Amazing sport facilities. It's a small class so it's very personal and the lecturers are so helpful. The social life is great, lots of options of places to go. Good shopping centre too and lots of restaurants and bars.

We're like one big family

(5)·By sarah a·Drama· Oct 2018
Marjon is completely different to all the other universities I've visited, as it's honestly like one big family that accepts you right away and makes you never want to leave. I would advise anyone wanting to get the most out of university life to go to Marjon, as it is incredible and the social life is second to none!

The course is hard work but I enjoy it, the university life is great. I love playing the sports and getting involved with the different aspects of uni life.

Up the Jons!

(4.8)·By Lily D·Education / Teacher Training· Jun 2023
Becoming a student at Marjon was the best decision i've ever made. My course is very specific to what I want to do (PE teaching) and i've been so lucky to share such amazing experiences, as well as making the best friends. The social life is brilliant and I wouldn't change it for the world, I don't want to leave !!

Marjon University Experince

(4.8)·By Roberta S·Sports· Jun 2023
The fact that Marjon is a small campus is perfect for those who want to experience uni life, but are nervous of big crowds!
Accommodation is on site so you are able to just roll out if bed and attend lectures!
There's always stuff going on so you are constantly meting new people!

Education / Teacher Training, Year 2

(4.8)·By Kate W·Education / Teacher Training· Jul 2021
It was amazing! Lots of activities/events put on including some non-drinking ones so there's something her for everyone Accommodation is affordable and good quality. There's a range of halls- some en-suite some shared bathrooms. There's also a student village on campus which is similar price to halls The facilities are great. Different study areas in the library depending on noise level. Some study rooms in the library have smart boards for presentation rehearsals. There's pods and other open study areas still accessible during COVID You get placement in all three years of study in a range of primary schools including SEND primary schools if you ask. The lectures are split between formal lectures and discussion seminars building on the content knowledge learnt in the lecture Plymouth is a busy city but has easy transport links from the uni. There are often events going on such as the fireworks display on the Hoe which is amazing and I highly recommend! There are a lot of parks/open space for recreational activities

Education, Third Year

I have loved and cherished every minute at this university. It is a very small university but everyone there makes its as large as surrounding universitites. Marjon has allowed me to take part in many other opportunities such as paid work and working abroad, and I don't feel I would have been offered this at a larger institution. Even though the university is small every one and everything makes the university itself an amazing placement to be. I am so pleased that I picked Marjon and have continued to study here.

Education, Graduate

(4.5)·By Lauren T·Education / Teacher Training· Oct 2018
Moving to Plymouth to go to University was the best thing I could have done. As I was doing teacher training, I was placed in different schools to gain experience teaching. The schools I was placed in were amazing and very supportive and always had good communication with the university tutors. My course really set me up to get a primary teaching job in London.

Media, Graduate

As a small uni, Marion had a real community feel to it which was fantastic. I loved my lecturers and had a great learning experience. The night life in Plymouth was great and there was never a shortage of things to do in the day either.
