Journalism, Year 2

It was good fun. Lots of choice of things to get involved in. Very sociable. I didn't stay in it personally but I've seen my friend's and it seems up to a good standard. Clean, tidy and spacious. Really good facilities. Huge library which is helpful. Amazing sport facilities. It's a small class so it's very personal and the lecturers are so helpful. The social life is great, lots of options of places to go. Good shopping centre too and lots of restaurants and bars.

We're like one big family

Marjon is completely different to all the other universities I've visited, as it's honestly like one big family that accepts you right away and makes you never want to leave. I would advise anyone wanting to get the most out of university life to go to Marjon, as it is incredible and the social life is second to none!

The course is hard work but I enjoy it, the university life is great. I love playing the sports and getting involved with the different aspects of uni life.

Education / Teacher Training, Year 2

(4.8)·By Kate W·Education / Teacher Training· Jul 2021
It was amazing! Lots of activities/events put on including some non-drinking ones so there's something her for everyone Accommodation is affordable and good quality. There's a range of halls- some en-suite some shared bathrooms. There's also a student village on campus which is similar price to halls The facilities are great. Different study areas in the library depending on noise level. Some study rooms in the library have smart boards for presentation rehearsals. There's pods and other open study areas still accessible during COVID You get placement in all three years of study in a range of primary schools including SEND primary schools if you ask. The lectures are split between formal lectures and discussion seminars building on the content knowledge learnt in the lecture Plymouth is a busy city but has easy transport links from the uni. There are often events going on such as the fireworks display on the Hoe which is amazing and I highly recommend! There are a lot of parks/open space for recreational activities

I have loved and cherished every minute at this university. It is a very small university but everyone there makes its as large as surrounding universitites. Marjon has allowed me to take part in many other opportunities such as paid work and working abroad, and I don't feel I would have been offered this at a larger institution. Even though the university is small every one and everything makes the university itself an amazing placement to be. I am so pleased that I picked Marjon and have continued to study here.

Media, Graduate

As a small uni, Marion had a real community feel to it which was fantastic. I loved my lecturers and had a great learning experience. The night life in Plymouth was great and there was never a shortage of things to do in the day either.

Education, Graduate

Moving to Plymouth to go to University was the best thing I could have done. As I was doing teacher training, I was placed in different schools to gain experience teaching. The schools I was placed in were amazing and very supportive and always had good communication with the university tutors. My course really set me up to get a primary teaching job in London.

Social Care, Year 3

(4.3)·By Tia S·Social Care· Jul 2021
I loved it. Made so many friends and had the best time. My course is so interesting so it was amazing. Very clean although a bit dated. I shared a bathroom so could've had one more toilet. Facilities are great, especially sports. Classrooms are good sizes and always clean. My cohort is small so we get to know each other and the lecturers really well. This helps a lot. Very different to back home so took some getting used to!

Whilst at university I have received amazing support from my tutors and from my peers this has enabled me to reach my potiental and also fit in with university life easily. Living on campus was amazing as so many events get put on for freshers and it helps you to feel less isolated and missing home

Art / Design, Year 2

(4)·By Ruben P·Art· Jul 2021
Good, but difficult due to covid restrictions. Lots of zoom party options. Clean, friendly people (personality test available), friendly staff. Always room somewhere in the library, lots of good resources. Classrooms are spacious and light. Su is open plan, always somewhere to sit, good music (most of the time) cheap beers !!! Made good friends, always staff on hand to help out, lots of different areas to explore, cheap/free equipment. Always something happening. Friendly locals, lots of shops and restaurants. Lucky being so near the sea!
