The support I have from this uni is amazing. This is from uni work it's self to at home life. They understand different moments that may happen and are always there to support.
The course is great. So many things are covered within the industry

My University Experience

(5)·By Jaya S·Aesthetic practioner· Jun 2023
Beginning university in September 2022 was extremely nerve racking for obvious reason being a new educational environment, new people and new ways of learning. However, starting a new course that is about to embark a whole new career path for me is what I've found most exciting. With that being said, my university experience so far has been amazing and I solely put this down to my course of choice due to the people I have met, the new experiences I have undergone and the mystery of what is yet to come.

Primary Education Studies

(5)·By Rowan P·Education / Teacher Training· Jun 2023
My experience on the programme has been really positive. The lecturers are very supportive and make the content engaging and accessible and have clearly laid out module pages online for us to access.
The course has lots of academic support and resources to support learning such as library and it facilities and the assignments are laid out clearly to give us time to prepare for them.
The accommodation is very central and has good facilities and the en-suite bathroom is a big bonus. The bills and WiFi is included which makes it less hassle and gives you more time to focus on uni work not finances.
There's a lively social side for those who are interested and there's plenty of opportunities to get involved in activities and societies.

Creative, a lot to learn but most of all... FUN!

The Specialist Hair and media makeup course at UCB is the essential course to take if your wanting to go into the makeup, hair, SFX and/or prosthetic industry. you learn hand on and through lectures from UCB's own teachers who have had a lot of experience within the industry. In first year you start at the basics but not to the point it's boring, there's always so much to learn and skills to improve upon. In second year you further develop upon the skills you already have, but you also get to pick a module which is of a subject you want to do in the industry after uni. I'm not yet in third year but I've seen and heard about the FMP (Final Major Project) which is your final masterpiece you independently create.

UCB is in a prime location, located in the heart of Birmingham, a short 5-10 minute walk from the bullring and very easy to get to by train, bus or even tram. There's many accommodations located around birmingham, UCB even have their very own located only 15 minutes away from campus.

I know to many student nightlife is a key aspect they look for and Birmingham is full of it. There's many many nightclubs, Rosies and Snobs being student hotspots. But if nightclubs aren't your thing there's also many event thrown by UCB themselves , whether it's the guild or one of the many societies you could join.

UCB has so much to offer and I'm so glad I chose to come here, there's no better place to study and no better course to be on (if that's the industry your wanting to go into of course).

Its a great experience to feel. The environment there is Mich different to how it was at school. They treat you like how they would in an actual work place.

Food science, Year 2

(5)·By Olivia B·Food / Beverage Studies· Oct 2018
I hated school and had a really bad experience due to bullying from both students and teachers I was really nervous to start college incase the same happened but I really wanted find my calling at UCB. Once I started college I finally felt as though I had a place somewhere and felt like I belonged. The staff were and still are so supportive and amazing, the facilities are just right for me and I have been able to make so many friends. The college saved me and then I went into uni. Nothing has changed and I still really enjoy coming here every day, I hate not being at uni!

Food / Beverage Studies, Year 2

(4.8)·By Yasmin S·Food / Beverage Studies· Jul 2021
We didn't do anything besides have a street food festival and a few on campus activities where you could get free Domino's and win merch. I lived in private accommodation but we take our exams in the leasure Hall and it is big Library is modern and has been redone twice in last year. Classrooms are small but we have few students per course. Sports facilities are good but there isn't a pool which is a shame The course is unique and was perfectly suited to me. The uni only takes a few students on per course so the lecturers know you more personally which means there is more help available when sitting exams, or submitting assignments. The course is also accredited by The University of Birmingham, despite having extremely low entry requirements I enjoyed being able to just walk around town, or go clubbing so freely. I enjoyed it but miss it this year
