Food science, Year 2

I hated school and had a really bad experience due to bullying from both students and teachers I was really nervous to start college incase the same happened but I really wanted find my calling at UCB. Once I started college I finally felt as though I had a place somewhere and felt like I belonged. The staff were and still are so supportive and amazing, the facilities are just right for me and I have been able to make so many friends. The college saved me and then I went into uni. Nothing has changed and I still really enjoy coming here every day, I hate not being at uni!

Its a great experience to feel. The environment there is Mich different to how it was at school. They treat you like how they would in an actual work place.

Food / Beverage Studies, Year 2

(4.8)·By Yasmin S·Food / Beverage Studies· Jul 2021
We didn't do anything besides have a street food festival and a few on campus activities where you could get free Domino's and win merch. I lived in private accommodation but we take our exams in the leasure Hall and it is big Library is modern and has been redone twice in last year. Classrooms are small but we have few students per course. Sports facilities are good but there isn't a pool which is a shame The course is unique and was perfectly suited to me. The uni only takes a few students on per course so the lecturers know you more personally which means there is more help available when sitting exams, or submitting assignments. The course is also accredited by The University of Birmingham, despite having extremely low entry requirements I enjoyed being able to just walk around town, or go clubbing so freely. I enjoyed it but miss it this year

Really good week. Got to know all about the university and the surroundings, built many connections One of the best accommodations in Birmingham at maltings, even though it could be expensive it is worth it The library is quite big, the student services are really helpful Very detailed approach to the teaching of everything. Very understanding staff As most of the city is filled up with students it has a great vibe to it. The night life is lit

So far my experience has been great, I have made so many new friends. I especially like the nightlife there is so much choice on where to go. I also like the event that bars and clubs run through out the year I have benn to a few and loved every moment of it. As well as the nightlife University has been good I like all my lecturers, I like the way they teach and answer questions the students ask even if they are stupid, I like the fact that they all have there own teaching styles as it makes each lesson with each lecturer fun and enjoyable.

Amazing. Great teaching and support for students. Good facilities and activities through the students union. Overall I developed a lot and managed to go onto a masters at Drama school of the back of my time there.

Tourism / Transport / Travel, Year 3

Appealing. So many senior students to help and guide around. First impression I am in a good place. A bit far from university but still close to all the amenities. Very nice location and safe too. In the new buildings everything is just amazing. A lot of space in the library. Small study areas are perfect. Lecture halls are massive and cosy. Student union always there to help. It's very focused on tourism including aviation sector too, so opens more career paths. The lecturer are amazing, always there to help. I am a countryside person but have to admit Birmingham is not bad as a city. Going to uni has always excited me so I really enjoyed. Plus Birmingham library is my favourite spot for everything: study, coffee, meeting up with friends.

So far my uni experience is great, I've made loads of friend, especially at my accommodation, ive enjoyed events the uni have put on for example freshers fyre, I've joined a dance society which is something I've never done before, so I can make new friends. Absolutely love it here in Birmingham, especially because the friends I've made have made me feel welcome as their second and third years. I especially love the night life.

Love it! Brilliant course, fantastic teachers, everyone's supportive. Erasmus and exchange opportunities given. Accommodation plus night life is really good. Lots to do see and learn. Close to many train stations, decent transport, airport too. Lots of jobs available. Many places for quiet study plus largest library in EU here too. Great place to shop and meet friends. Many choices of gym's and fitness communities to join plus other activities within the community. NEC is a bonus plus Merry Hill

The university campus of McIntyre house is amazing. The tutors are enthusiastic in the subject they teach and so supportive. The campus is also very clean and very up to date with modern technology.

it was refreshing. i loved it because the staff were very interactive during that week. i learnt a lot before officially starting my degree the accommodation is situated really close to city centre so it's convenient. i really recommend it if you're staying away from home. fantastic! there is a sports area so if you would like to work out it's great. there's also a spa in richmond house. there's a great common room too if i don't understand something, the lecturer is great at going over stuff. they really support me in the way that i need city life is great as it's birmingham. there's always lots of stuff to do and eat!
