Television Production (with Integrated Foundation & Professional Practice Years)

Note: The Integrated Foundation Year of this course will be taught at our UCA Farnham Campus. You will then progress to Maidstone Television Studios following completion of the Integrated Foundation Year for the remainder of your course.

BA (Hons)Television Production with Integrated Foundation Year and Professional Practice Year is a five-year degree programme, including a foundation year to help develop your skills and creativity before you start the first year of the degree course and your fourth year would be an industry placement to further develop your skills and CV.

Based at Maidstone Studios – a working commercial TV studio – you'll train on the same studios and equipment used by the BBC, ITV, and major production companies. From day one, you're studying right at the heart of the industry, not learning about it from the outside.

You'll develop skills across the full breadth of television: scripted and unscripted, drama and factual, single-camera and multi-camera, recorded and live. With small cohorts of around 20 per year, you get genuine, hands-on access to professional facilities and real work experience.

As you grow, so does your range. From screenwriting and camera work, to pitching original formats and producing an ambitious studio show – you'll build the creative confidence, technical craft and collaborative instincts that will have the industry lining up for your skills.

If you prefer a closer, more community feel, UCA’s creative campuses in Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, and Maidstone could be for you. Each campus is home to a vibrant community of like-minded creatives, with supportive and passionate academic staff to help you bring your ideas to life.
