Fantastic Course and Helpful Tutors

(5)·By Lucy W·Design· Jun 2023
I really grew both as a person and as a designer during my time at University. I couldn't have chosen a better course. My tutors were there to offer advice and support at every stage and the facilities were second to none. I lived at home and commuted to UCA which I really enjoyed as I had time to reflect on my day during my journey home and came in the next day with lots of new ideas. When I look back at my work from year 1 through to year 3, it was clear to see how much I developed. I will forever be grateful for my experience at University as it has put me on the career path I am on today.

Freshers week at UCA was cool, a nice introduction to culture and arts at the uni! I was able to meet fellow students through a number of 'freshers' aimed activities that were engaging, fun and creative. University accomodation is limited, but the university campus is very easy to get to. You can live on campus, in Epsom or neighbouring towns. My favourite place on campus was the library. It is well equipped and the staff are resourceful too. Facilities are modern and always maintained to a high level. I think the best thing about the course is the ability to engage first hand with industry professionals through live briefs and work experience. The facilities also allow you to be as creative as creatively allowing. Epsom is a really cute little town, it's trendy with a nice bubbly atmosphere. Not far from the city you can board a train to Waterloo that takes 20 mins.

Review on the University for Creative Arts

(5)·By Hana H·Art· Jun 2023
Before heading to university I was very nervous and scared about moving to a new place and meeting new people, but my university made it so easy to fit in and meet the right people. Events and group activities allowed me to become more confident around new people. The diversity of studying at university allows you to meet people from all over the world and it's so exciting hearing about people backgrounds. As somone who struggles with working and deadlines my teachers and classmates pushed me to work hard and gave me amazing feedback and support. Having support from all the people around you during university is so amazing as it takes away the added weight of pressure and failure. My accomodation is my favourite part, as I enjoy the independence of living alone, I am blessed to have met amazing people at my flat and I always have a good time here.

Design, Graduate

The freshers week was fun, meeting so many different people from all over the country and discovering new activities and getting to know what university was offering for their students. The first and second year in the accommodation was really fun, studying together, parting, playing board games or watching a movie and we shared with 6 girls including myself and we became the best of friends. Very organised, I loved using the app that university offers and it was easier to find things around. It felt I was part of something, I've learned so many things while attending the lectures and the tutors were very good at helping when you get stuck The town was small, but when sharing with people from the dorm rooms it helped a lot to enjoy the city life.

The Architecture course at UCA gave us a lot of knowledge and opened a lot of doors. The CSA Canterbury School of Architecture is incredible, as the facilities are top-notch and the tutors are evn better. They really care about us and always have time to help; they invite a lot of architects to speak to us, so we had really good opportunities for networking. The environment at uni is a lovely place to study, very calm and relaxing.

University for the Creative Arts

I've been at this university for about 5 months now and am really pleased with the decision I have chosen. Originally I wasn't going to move out and live alone at university, but last minute I decided to take this course and move up to this university. It was the best decision I have made as not only is it fun living the uni life but also you make valuable skills that will help you in the future.

At my uni the facilities are amazing with every department you could think of related to your courses. The teachers want the best for you therefore they are so supportive and help you when in need.

The campus is rather small which I love as to me it feel more cozy and at home. You get to know more people around the uni from other courses.

There are also many opportunities within the university for example job roles where you can be paid to be a student ambassador.

Overall I am so pleased with the decision I chose to come to this uni.

My Experience

(4.5)·By TYRESE A·Film· Jun 2023
Uni is brilliant in comparison to what I expected I thought I'd struggle to find a place in my uni but fit right in like it was home. Accomodation on campus is beautiful, comfortable and allowed me to find my footing in a new environment. My course is well formulated and the equipment available makes the journey worth while.

Fresher's week can be a tense time for international students. Our university was kind enough to have a mixer for students of all departments with lots of fun, music, food and enjoyment Staying at the University accomodation was one of the best experiences of my life. I made friends for life and it was like i never left home in the first place. Since our university is an arts uni, therefore we had an abundance of research online as well as offline along with technological equipment needed to excel in our fields. Our classrooms were fully equipped with tech needed for appropriate studies Fashion photography is my choice of career and the experience i have had at the uni with the faculty has been so fulfilling because our mentors are experienced practicals from their fields and we used to have visiting lecturers every week from different walks of life and art. My campus was situated in Rochester, kent. The campus was situated at an hour distance from central london and therefore was a quiet small joyful town , just how i like it. To get a little touch of the city bustle i'd go to london on weekends so as to take a break from my studies and explore the beautiful city.

Art and Design, Year 1

It's been great, the facilities here for my course (silver smithing, goldsmithing and jewellery) are amazing. Being able to spend all day in the workshop making and designing doesn't feel like work at all most of the time.
The staff are really friendly and welcoming and are all really knowledgeable about their area of expertise. The university is really accommodating and offers a lot of support if you are struggling with any aspect of your course.
