On successful completion of the foundation year, you can progress directly to our Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering BEng(Hons). <br/><br/>Youll become a creative engineer who can provide innovative solutions to real-world challenges, and improve the quality of life for people around the world.<br/><br/>Well help you to build the skills needed to design, develop and test intelligent machines and automated systems. Youll gain advanced knowledge of AI, and youll prepare for your career by working with other engineering specialists on challenging and rewarding projects like building and fighting robots and real-world projects in collaboration with our industry partners.<br/><br/>Specialist facilities that youll use include our robotics and mechatronics lab, VR lab, and CISCO cybersecurity and communications lab where you’ll put your learning into practice.<br/><br/>he foundation year is shared with all engineering disciplines and includes core maths, engineering maths, core science and mechanics.<br/><br/>In years 1 and 2 you will explore different aspects such as sensors and actuators, interfacing electronics, electric power-related subjects, including power systems, power electronics and control systems.<br/><br/>After year 2 you can choose to undertake a year-long industrial placement where youll put your learning into practice, and gain new skills and knowledge.<br/><br/>The final year includes advanced study of robotic communications, control systems and artificial intelligence, and a major individual project which is often supported by industry.
