My UCLan experience

(5)·By Ellie W·Nursing· Jun 2023
I undertook my undergraduate course here during Covid 19 and the university adapted their styles of teaching well. I enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend!
I have now returned to do my non medical prescribing module and I have nothing but positive things to say! I've really enjoyed it!

Excellent

I can't complain about anything regarding my university so far. The standard of teaching is excellent, you can tell the staff love teaching and care about their students as they go above and beyond expectations to help. All the resources offered by the university are signposted on their website and are easy to access. No complaints

My experience at UcLan

(5)·By Sabaa P·English Studies· Jun 2023
When I first started at UcLan i was really worried and stressed about the pressure of being in higher education, i had hear a lot of rumours about how lecturers kind of leave you to it and aren't much help. However, this was the complete opposite for me my tutors are super helpful, if i never understand anything they always organise meetings with me to explain anything i might have trouble understanding on my own. I recently have been struggling balancing my work life and uni life and person life, this is common for a lot of university students who are under financial pressure. When this started affecting my attendance immediately i was contacted by my tutors but also a well-being officer. At first i was scared that i was probably going to get kicked off my course however, each tutor did their utmost best to help me catch up with what i missed out on and my well-being officer scheduled regular check ins she was very understanding as were my tutors about my situation and helped me out a lot. Overall, so far i have had a very positive uni experience and would highly recommend to any students looking into going to university this up and coming educational year.

My university experience

(5)·By Emaan M·Nursing· Jun 2023
During my time at the university of central Lancashire it has been a pleasurable experience. The facilities and teaching is amazing and to a high standard to ensure the best possible outicomes for the students. The help and support from different institutions such as mental health and academic writing is immaculate as it provides a safe space for students to talk about what they are struggling with. Overall this university is brilliant and I could not ask for a more better community to be part of.

Course review

(5)·By Jelissa D·Education / Teacher Training· Jun 2023
The lecturers and course leaders are very helpful. They are friendly and are always willing to give academic support. I always feel like I am never alone experiencing my university experience due to them. They deliver the course in different ways as they get to know us and tailor lessons to everyone's needs. They also inform us of many graduate opportunities with career fairs.

Brilliant supportive university

(5)·By Brittany H·Business· Jun 2023
I really enjoyed my time at this university. I had studied at an institution elsewhere, and the support and teaching I received at UCLan was phenomenal in comparison. There was always staff who I could reach out to if I needed anything, and they seemed genuinely interested in me and wanted to help - the more you put in the more you get out. The course was kept interesting with relevant and topical modules, with coursework to be completed in a range of different ways so I didn't feel like I was constantly churning out essays. The campus has lots of different buildings but was easy enough to navigate around. Some buildings were more dated than others, but this didn't impact learning experience. The gym was brilliant and new, and I believe the library and student centre has been refreshed since I left. I can't comment on accommodation as I lived at home, and didn't make the most of social groups either due to this as I was balancing study with work. However I would not hesitate to recommend UCLan to anybody and hope to return for future studies one day.

I think uclan is an amazing university that I really recommend to anyone and everyone. It's amazing for making new friends as well and the quality of the teaching is brilliant. I do also think that the facilities here are good as well as there are plenty of places that help you with work if your struggling as well such as WISER and the tutors are great too

Review of university

(5)·By Isabel M·Psychology· Jun 2023
I don't live in the university accommodation but when my friend studied here her dorm was really nice and spacias and the people who she were with were really easy to get on with. The course psychology is a good course and you get lots of support with essays and even areas with statistics. Everywhere in the university is always clean and everyone just gets on with there own stuff.

Psychology / Criminology, Year 2

(5)·By Bethan L·Psychology· Jul 2021
It was amazing there was never a day where you had nothing to do, it was full of socialising, making new friends, going out and having a good time. I couldn't have asked for a better freshers experience I met so many friends that I will know for life and made so many memories that I'll cherish forever. I lived in halls of residence for my first year and second year and I can't fault the accommodation. It's very affordable pricing and the rooms are always clean and fresh and spacious enough and you are provided with your own en-suite where I stayed which is good. I always use the library and it is so useful it has a very large space with computers on around 3 floors and pod rooms where you can study on your own in a quiet area or in a group. I use the student union sometimes but not often but it is really good it even has its own bar which is good for socialising and the drinks and food are lovely. I love my course!! I study psychology, I was originally about to start university studying philosophy but had a change of heart and I'm glad I decided to go through with it. The course is so engaging even the lectures and even the 9am's are worth getting up for, it is such an interesting topic and the tutors really help guide you in the right direction. When thinking of studying in preston I didn't really think much about the city life as its only a small city. There are few clubs but the city life is still so good the clubs are always packed and good music and the drinks are pretty cheap which is good when you're a student.
