This is a four year programme that will allow you to qualify in two fields of nursing. Your first field will be adult nursing; your second will be childrens nursing. <br/><br/>The adult nursing field cares for people over the age of 18 who are ill, recovering from illness or accident, or adapting to life-changing disabilities and long-term conditions. You will learn how to provide person centred care to adults meeting the needs of individuals through acute and long-term illness with both physical and mental health conditions, promote their health and wellbeing, communicate effectively with professional colleagues, and provide sensitive support for the individual and their families.<br/><br/>Children’s nursing specialises in caring for children, young people and their families in a variety of settings, as part of an interprofessional approach to care. The work of a children’s nurse can range from caring for a sick newborn baby to caring for a teenager with complex physical or psychological needs. The course will empower you to become a flexible practitioner; clinically adept, caring and willing to accept responsibility for the care of children, young people and their families.
