You will learn how to provide person centred care to adults meeting the needs of individuals through acute and long-term illness with both physical and mental health conditions, promote their health and wellbeing, communicate effectively with professional colleagues, and provide sensitive support for the individual and their families.

Children’s nursing specialises in caring for children, young people and their families in a variety of settings, as part of an interprofessional approach to care. The work of a children’s nurse can range from caring for a sick newborn baby to caring for a teenager with complex physical or psychological needs. The course will empower you to become a flexible practitioner; clinically adept, caring and willing to accept responsibility for the care of children, young people and their families.

Nursing and midwifery courses require clinical placements and strict safeguarding, so students must be at least 18 at the course start to meet professional standards and fully take part in all required activities.
