**Learn the art of teaching Dance**<br/>Are you passionate about Dance and want to teach in secondary schools or colleges?<br/><br/>Our PGCE Secondary Dance degree prepares you to become a qualified Dance teacher in just one year.<br/><br/>You’ll be trained to teach your subject specialism of Dance at Key Stages 3 and 4 as well as at A level (ages 11 to 19).<br/><br/>At the end of this one-year degree, you’ll be ready to confidently begin teaching in a secondary school.<br/><br/>This is achieved through a balance of study of the knowledge, skills and attitudes required by the teaching profession, and a focus on the development of your understanding of the role of the secondary school teacher.<br/><br/>In addition, you will gain vital hands-on experience of working within the classroom through our 24-week placement programme, which will develop your confidence and competence to teach effectively.<br/><br/>After successful completion, you will be recommended for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) so that you can begin working as a teacher in a secondary school.<br/><br/>**Proud history of teacher training**<br/>The University of Chichester has been training teachers for over 180 years and we look to train employable professionals who can get out there and make a difference.<br/><br/>You will be taught by experienced education specialists and our dedication to small teaching groups allows you to develop strong professional relationships with the University teaching team.<br/><br/>**On this course you will:**<br/>Specialise in teaching Dance.<br/>Gain Qualified Teacher Status upon completion of the course that will allow you to teach Dance in secondary schools in England and Wales.<br/>Develop your competence and confidence working within the classroom environment.<br/>Gain the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required by the teaching profession.
