Celtic Studies/Music MA (Hons)

Celtic Studies provides the opportunity to combine language study with a range of courses on the medieval and modern Celtic cultures of the British Isles. The BMus is a single-subject degree for those who are interested in pursuing a career in music. It provides a strong grounding in core disciplines and allows you to pursue your specialist interests in third and fourth years. <br/><br/><strong>Why study this course at the University of Glasgow?</strong> <br/><br/>You will have the opportunity to study the medieval and modern cultures of Celtic-speaking peoples with scholars at the cutting edge of research, and learn a Celtic language of the British Isles. You will be given a bursary towards the cost of private instrumental or vocal tuition. <br/><br/><strong>Career Prospects?</strong> <br/><br/>Recent graduates have entered a range of careers including primary and secondary teaching; working with museums and government heritage bodies; publishing and book marketing; music; entrepreneurship. Others have gone on to further study and to pursue successfully a career in research and academic work. The BMus degree provides a strong foundation for careers in performance, composition, research & teaching, music administration, journalism, publishing and librarianship. It provides an unusual breadth of strong transferable skills which are applicable to a wide range of careers outside music.
