This can include a focus on a specific period or concept, or engaging with ideas across a wide historical range. <br/><br/>Our faculty research expertise spans the medieval to the modern and contemporary periods.The diverse research interests in the Department of English mean that you’ve got expert support in the topics you choose to focus on. Our particular strengths lie in:<br/>- querying the materiality and the body<br/><br/><br/>- ecology and political economy<br/><br/><br/>- philosophical approaches to literature<br/><br/><br/>- decolonisation and radical politics<br/><br/><br/>- novel theory<br/><br/><br/>- poetics and experimental writing.<br/><br/><br/>You’ll learn about the theoretical ideas and conceptual methods that underpin research in literature.
