Semesters Abroad - Wish I did my entire bachelors here

(5)·By Safia K·Design· May 2025
I was a semester abroad study at University of Westminster. It was a life changing experience. The professors were incredible and dedicated to my growth. The modules were challenging and educational. The pushed me to be the best I could possibly be. The social life is amazing. There is truly a society for everyone. All of the societies I went to were extremely welcoming. The free coffee and porridge in the morning was a life saver. The accommodation I stayed at in Marylebone campus felt like a home away from home because of the staff at the front desk. Only regret is not staying longer. Go dragons!

Fantastic experience

(5)·By Filippo I·Finance· May 2025
My favourite part of my course at Westminster was the wealth of opportunities available to students.

Professionally, I recall participating in several sessions with the University's Careers and Employability Service during my first and second years. These sessions not only guided me in mapping out the path to reach my career goals but also provided opportunities to interact with employers, which, along with the focus on polishing my CV and cover letters, ultimately helped me secure the summer internships during my studies.

Academically, I had the opportunity to spend an exchange semester in Denmark at Copenhagen Business School. This experience significantly broadened my perspective, further enhancing my academic knowledge while also contributing to my personal growth.

I believe that my bachelor's degree journey not only helped me develop a strong foundation in financial and quantitative research methods, which are essential to my current job, but also gave me the confidence to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

The best decision I made

(5)·By Fiona T·Marketing· Apr 2025
I studied MA Public Relations. My Master's degree took place during the COVID lockdown of 2020-2021, so it was fairly unconventional as it all took place remotely. However, the tutors all worked incredibly hard to make sure that we still had the full course experience whilst being taught online. For example, we had a large number of guest talks from high-calibre industry professionals.

I was fully supported through my entire degree. Tutors ensured that they were regularly checking in, and I received excellent help when it came to deciding what to research for my dissertation. Assignment feedback was constructive and always delivered on time. Modules were up-to-date and reflected current trends, clearly being updated for each academic year.

I cannot commend my experience enough. The knowledge I learnt on my Master's degree helped me to pivot into my dream career. My only wish is that I could have experienced the campus in person!

for media courses is really good! There are many practical courses, not just theoretical knowledge, which enables students to have a better understanding of the media industry and be better prepared for work after graduation.

A Life-Changing Journey: Studying at the University of Westminster with the GREAT Scholarship

(5)·By Thi H·Education / Teacher Training· Apr 2025
I'm Thao, 39 years old English teacher from Vietnam. In 2022, I studied at the University of Westminster in London with the GREAT Scholarship from the British Council and the University. During my 18 months in the UK, I traveled to 41 countries while completing my Master's in TESOL, and graduated with Distinction.

Westminster offered a perfect balance between academic rigor and real-world experience. The lecturers were supportive and inspiring, and the curriculum was highly practical and globally focused. The university's central London location opened doors to countless cultural, professional, and social opportunities.

Beyond the classroom, I engaged in ambassador programs and blogging projects, connecting with a vibrant international community. Westminster’s emphasis on independent learning and critical thinking allowed me to grow academically and personally while exploring the world.

Studying at Westminster was truly life-changing, a place where ambition, global vision, and personal discovery come together.

Great university at a prime location

(5)·By Hannah S·Psychology· Apr 2025
I joined the university as an international student to complete my Master's and kickstart my career in the UK. The MSc Psychology programme equipped me with the relevant knowledge and experience to pursue the psychological field.

During my year, I had the opportunity to do a work placement as part of the course, and I got hired for a paid research role with the help of the university's Careers and Employability team. Their assistance with landing a work placement was incredibly valuable not only to my course but also to my future prospects, as the opportunity increased the desirability of my CV.

Other than that, the lectures and seminars were engaging, as well. The professors were very knowledgeable about their topics, and my personal tutor was quite welcoming and helpful. It was easy to engage with them, and I truly learned a lot. The facilities on campus, like the psych labs, aided in my learning, too.

Finally, there were plenty of social clubs to take part in within the university. And even if you weren't interested in those, the other students in my cohort were easy to get along with, and I found myself forming meaningful friendships with them.

I really enjoyed my time at Westminster. I recommend this university.

The speech that changed my life

(5)·By Andrea M·Design· Apr 2025
My journey with Westminster University has been anything but ordinary. I graduated in 2020, a year marked by uncertainty and change due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Like many others, I didn’t get the chance to celebrate my achievements at the time — the graduation ceremony was postponed, and life quickly moved forward. I relocated to Italy and started working there. However, deep down, I knew I wasn’t happy. The job I had chosen didn’t inspire me; it didn’t align with what I had studied for, or what I truly loved.

In June 2022, Westminster finally held the long-awaited graduation ceremony. I returned to London, excited yet reflective about the path I was on. During the event, one of the master professors gave a powerful speech that truly resonated with me. They spoke about passion, purpose, and the courage to chase the career you are meant for. Sitting there, in my gown among my peers, I had a moment of complete clarity: I wasn't doing what I loved — and I needed to change that.

That same day, inspired and determined, I resigned from my job.

Fast forward three years, and I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I have since founded my own company, doing exactly what I studied for and what I am passionate about. Every day, I wake up grateful for that pivotal moment at Westminster.

Westminster University didn’t just give me an education — it gave me the courage to follow my dreams.

Courses / Modules

(5)·By Binxin L·Marketing· Apr 2025
I think the college's course programme is professional. After I graduated, I worked in the advertising and marketing industry. During my studies, the teachers taught me about the latest cases and the most classic marketing tactics in the market today. Learning also developed my logical thinking, which is very helpful in the workplace.
