Students can also opt to undertake a Work Placement or International Experience year and the University offers alternative pathways, including Degree Apprenticeship and Part-time and distance learning courses.
Campus Locations

Bangor Main Campus
Bangor University's main campus is based in Bangor, North Wales. Many of the University's buildings are situated around the city centre, with most academic buildings within a 10-minute walk. There are two residential campuses based on either side of the University and are within walking distance of the main buildings.
Bangor is a small city, so students don't have to worry about the cost of taxis or buses, as supermarkets, gyms, launderettes, cafes, and pubs are all within walking distance.

Bangor University has an excellent reputation for producing quality graduates. You can access many resources whilst at the University to help boost employability and develop your personal skills. The University offers students the opportunity to gain valuable employability skills by supporting them in finding work placements and internships. Skills workshops and drop-in sessions with the employability team are available as well. Most courses allow students to choose to add a Placement Year or Year Abroad onto their course to further boost employability.
The Bangor Employability Award can be completed during your studies and enables students to build on their transferable skills through the recognition of activities they become involved in during their university life.

Our vibrant community provides a range of activities, ensuring there's something for everyone, whether you prefer active pursuits, more relaxed engagements, or social events with or without a focus on alcohol.
Students living in halls can join in with Campus Life events designed to help you settle in and make friends; from open mic nights to mocktail mixology masterclasses, there are a range of events taking place throughout the year.
Academi is Bangor’s Official Student Nightclub, providing great night life, with free entry for students living in University Halls, discounted entry for sponsored team members, plus offers at the bar; it’s a wonderful place to meet and hang out with friends.
Ffriddoedd Village has its own bar that serves food, drink and Starbucks, all within a short walking distance of your halls of residence. Over on St Mary's site there is also a place to meet friends, have a drink, play pool, and have coffee.
