Cinematics and Photography, Year 2

(5)·By John B·Photography· Mar 2019
It was great I got to learn most of the key skills to grow out to my dream job. They we’re also able to help me learn much more to what photography actually is

The accommodation is brilliant. You really do feel welcome form the first day you walk in or start your new adventure. Everybody is very friendly there and the teachers and tutors are very supportive. I would recommend students to come here and enjoy it

The facilities are very clean and high standards. Everything you need is always there waiting for you to pick it up and very rarely you won’t find what you need. The sports facilities have brilliant equipment and help you train to become an athlete

The best part about the course was learning that there is a lot more to the subject that you want to study than you think. I did photograph and soon realised I didn’t really know that much to what I thought I did.

The city life was great. It helped me explore more and become more adventurous and discover some places I didn’t ever know about. It also made me feel more independent and was quite nice to meet up with friends and even family.

If the students were to study the course I’m doing right now, they will need to know that it takes time. It doesn’t happen quickly and will take time to get used to and learn all the key elements to that subject to become the highest and best standard at it. The also should know that it is ok to get frustrated because it can be annoying when it doesn’t go the correct way.

My BU Experience

(4.5)·By Henry S·Computing· Jun 2023
I'm currently undertaking my placement year but have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Bournemouth University.

I enjoy my course and value the multiple opportunities to change / alter my specific course title.

Most lecturers are easy to contact although during covid they were in high-demand and caused many issues near coursework deadlines.

I'm looking forward to returning in September!

Architecture,

(4.3)·By Finlay O·Architecture· Mar 2019
Very good I enjoyed. Very tidy and clean and very friendly. Rooms are easy to locate however traffic is pretty loud.. Very good and very accessible. They very interesting and information was easy to understand.. Very good, lots of facilities, shops, restaurants and the beach and the gardens are very nice.. Always prepare to take notes and don’t ever miss your lectures as it’s hard to catch up.

Art & Design, Year 1

(4.3)·By Sophie H·art· Mar 2019
It was very fun and had lots of activities so it was easy to make new friends and eat lots of food. I do not think they have accommodation. I live nearby in Poole anyway and everyone I know lives quite nearby so it is easy for us all to get to.. They have lots of classrooms that are well equipped and I spend a lot of time in the library as I always need to use the computers and printers that all students can access. They are interesting and go very quickly. I’ve always lived In the city. To make sure they keep lots of equipment at home because you have a lot of homework

Drama, Year 2

(3.8)·By Lucy K·Drama· Apr 2019
Freshers included lots of offers and a chance to meet new people doing other courses at different campuses as well as joining new groups such as sports, performing or mixers

I live in a house full of 5 people in wallisdown which is outside my university this gives me the chance to host and live independently

The studios and classrooms are spacious and useful when needed as we can book them out whenever

The lecturers are helpful during shows and rehearsals. Especially with our problems and insecurities

Bournemouth is a great city to meet new people and go out

It’s very practical and when coming to assessments you need to be very organised and pro active
