(5)·By Orla R·Marketing· Jul 2021 My freshers week for International festival and event management with marketing was very effective. It gave me a good insight on what my course would entail and who to contact if I had any issues or needed to ask any question. It was also a great opportunity to meet my lectures and complete team building exercises to get to know my course mates. Edinburgh Napier Accommodation was very modern. The room had a double bed, desk with shelves and drawers, wardrobe was a good size and an un suite. The shared kitchen and living room was definitely big enough for the 7 of us living in the flat with 3 sofas a tv, bar stool seating, 2 fridges, 2 sets of jobs and 2 ovens and plenty of storage for us all. I made great use of library facilities with a library on every campus. Merchiston has a 24 hour computer lab which is very useful near deadline and my favourite space to go study and do assignments. The student union is a great social space and is in town which is nice as it's an escape from University and constantly social events on. I love my course as it was very interactive and lectures are very personal and always willing to answer questions. The course is good with practical elements within it, such as planning your own event. A good mixture of group and individual work is throughout the course. There is also opportunities to select modules so you can do work that you are really interested in. I really love Edinburgh. It really feels like a home away from home. The city has a very warm and welcoming feeling about it and is easy to navigate around. Moving to a new city can be overwhelming but I settled so quickly. There is loads to do and see in the city to with great social aspects.
