Economics, Year 3

It was a lot of fun there were a lot of events. Events were in uni halls and within departments . Some departments host more events than others though. First year I stayed in uni accommodation it was a lot of fun. Considering I was in the middle of london the rooms were huge and I made a lot of friends. The location was great I stayed right next to the Tate Modern museum The LSE library is incredible. It's a wonderful place to study even if you have to be there the whole day. The student Union building looks a little weird but they have some amazing societies. All the staff is very nice. I had some brilliant professors. The content was challenging but they made it easy to understand. I got to attend lectures given by some very influential people. London is the best city to stay in as a student. Night life is amazing. Shopping is amazing as well.

Great uni made better by being in central London

(5)·By dani k·Anthropology· Oct 2018
The teaching is incredible and the lecturers in Economics and History were the best at what they do. We had a lot of flexibility to pursue interests and do modules outside of our courses, to the extent that in my 3rd year I worked 4 days a week and still managed to get a First. I don't think many other unis make this posible, which is great, as you are in central London and want to be able to see all the shopping, nightlife, jobs, etc. I didn't live in student accommodation, but my friends did and it looked clean and safe. A lot of people think LSE is too hardworking to have a good social life, but the sports clubs are great and I met loads of friends through football.

LSE provides wide range of facilities with top quality services. Teaching and lectures are very good and the recording system is a brilliant idea. They have many active clubs and societies, social events and meetings which makes university fun and enjoyable. They provide good and efficient services from application to fees payment. The student portals are also convenient and easy to access. Many information can be obtained easily through these student portal. The student accommodations have good locations and price.

Aerospace Engineering, Graduate

(5)·By Mike M·Aerospace Engineering· Jul 2021
Freshers week was nerve wracking - Having to meet new people was a scary experience, yet enriching. I feel getting over that first hurdle at University sets you up to run the race. My accommodation at LSE was great. The rooms are modern and you can instantly tell they have been decorated with quality. The facilities at LSE are top of the range. Frequently replaced and refurbished to keep them at a top level. The course touched on topics that other universities did not have on their curriculum. This meant we learnt more and broadened our knowledge of aerospace City life was exciting and lively. London is always busy and therefore there is always something to do. I love the city life.

Law, Year 1

(5)·By Bethany S·Law· Mar 2019
Great! LSE provided lots of both in and out of department welcome activities and the department had a clear plan for us to be introduced into the area of law.. I stay at Bankside House. It is more expensive than accommodation outside of London, but that was expected. My room is massive and I love the halls.. All very modern and clean. All I could want.. . . It is academically demanding, as expected at an institution like LSE. Nonetheless, it is very enjoyable and thought-provoking and I look forward to 2nd year, where I will be able to choose some modules, as opposed to this year.

Sociology, Year 3

(5)·By Elise C·Sociology· Jul 2021
Really fun, made most of my friends during freshers week. Halls played more of a role in this than my degree subject though. Halls are very sociable. Quite expensive though, but in central london so makes sense. Student Union and library are amazing building. Sadly no on campus sport facilities, have to travel out of London for university sport facilities. Lecturers and professors all at the top of their field so very inspiring. The course content is varied and interesting. Living in London is the best decision I ever made, I've been here nearly 3 years now and I'm never leaving. There's never a dull moment in the city, always something going on! Plus you have the tube which is a big win.

Economics, Year 2

Good. The Economics department had loads of ice-breakers that made it easy to meet people from my course and explore London. I was In intercollegiate accommodation so I got to meet people from a range of universities which was great Our library is absolutely massive and really fun to hang out in plus there's lots of different zones to fit your needs eg. silent zones, more collaborative areas, bean bag spaces. Our sports facilities aren't the best but I'm pretty sure a lot of sports societies use external venues anyways. The student union is great! This year on my course has been really great because our lecturers are such amazing teachers. It means that I actually want to attend lectures and have been able to stay on top of things way easier than last year. London is such a great city because there's so many things to do regardless of what you're interested in. I know every weekend I can try something new and not run out of things to do

Challenging but great. Very sociable, lots of opportunities to meet new people, lots of opportunities to get involved. Academically challenging but lots of support is provided by the department.

History, Year 2

(4.8)·By Tom·History· Oct 2018
In general, it's pretty good. LSE has a great reputation and a very strong careers website, which is always overloaded with great opportunities. The strength of that makes up for the occasional lack of quality teaching, though most of my teachers and lecturers have been fantastic. My experience at halls last year was excellent, as we were in a great area and had an amazing walk to uni through central London. Although pricey, after living here a while you get to know how to get bang for your buck when going out in London and have lots of fun without spending too much.

Law / Legal Studies, Year 2

(4.8)·By Jia M·Law· Jul 2021
Academics wise, it was very informative. The university prepared us well with what is ahead of us for the academic year. Social wise, it was very fun, people were friendly and there were lots and lots of events and societies to join. Amazing, super amazing. I live in Bankside Hall. Despite having to walk 30 mins to school, everything else is perfect. The best thing is the food, hands down. They offered a variety of food and their desserts, hot chocolate ...super yummy! Receptionists are also very friendly and approachable. And most importantly security is good. Great. LSE is in London so you can't expect much of the campus life anyway, but I personally love the city life and how the university is located in the centre of London. Library is amazing, I love the swirling stairs especially. Sports facilities are not too bad either, I did boxing and Muay Thai and the facilities are pretty good. The course is great because it has a perfect blend of academic rigour and career exposure. It prepares students with any ambitions, whether you want to practice as a solicitor, a barrister, or be an academic, or want to pursue something else, the course prepares you well. Other than regular lectures and classes, there are lots of external talks which are super helpful. Teachers and professors are also extremely helpful and response to my doubts promptly. Amazing. I can't stress how much I love being London. I love that almost everywhere is in walking distance. I love the weather here, it's not too cold and when the sun's out, it's the best. I love the buildings here and the people around me makes this place even more beautiful.
