Research Excellence Framework (REF) awarded 80% of LSBUs research into General Engineering the two highest quality ratings (4* or 3*) for impact (research and significance).<br/><br/>This success is underpinned by a strong record of external income generation with the total current contract value of research and enterprise awards exceeding £4M.<br/><br/>Income is generated from a wide range of sources including the research councils, European Union, industry, Government, charities, consultancy and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships where the School is one of the leaders nationally.
