Researchers in the Eye and Vision Sciences group work on basic science and clinical projects to improve our current understanding of the structure and function of the human visual system and to translate new knowledge into useful clinical tests. Our PhD/MPhil Ophthalmology programme enables you to undertake a research project that will improve your understanding of Ophthalmology. <br/><br/>Our postgraduate research in Ophthalmology follows several key themes: <br/>- Ocular imaging using a spectrum of innovative techniques; <br/><br/><br/>- Exploring the challenges relating to the appropriate measurement and management of patients with low vision;<br/><br/><br/>- Visual psychophysics and ocular electrophysiology; <br/><br/><br/>- Evaluating function and dysfunction across a diverse range of ophthalmic conditions; <br/><br/><br/>- Visual optics and determinants of optimal visual performance; <br/><br/><br/>- Contact lenses and the cornea.<br/>
