About course

(5)·By Iqra M·Biology· Jun 2024
So I am doing a biomedical course and this is my second year starting from the foundation year. It has been very helpful from the beginning and all the teachers are very supportive. The Careers Zone always helps and advises you to choose the right path and assists with assessments as well. I would definitely recommend to everyone doing a biomedical course to come to the University of West London.

Business Studies / Management, Graduate

Freshers week was very busy and lively however not many courses had started by then so not much studying was required They have very clean and modern accommodations. Local supermarkets and take always available upon request The uni was under construction, most facilities were available and new at the campus I was in, they had very good student union voice who would pick up any faults. The canteen had a variation menu and was suited for all diets. I enjoyed my course because I was looking for a career in this field. My lectures were never boring and always informative. The uni was located in west London so wasn't very busy like central London would be. We had great restaurants and bars to visit with good student discounts

Very fun. Lots of things to do and plenty of opportunities to meet new people and make new friends. Information about freshers week was widely available on the student union websites and social media! Very close to the university. Lots of different types of accommodation available. Easy to find out information about accommodation. Good pricing. Library is well set out. Classrooms are spacious and great views of the city. Student union is readily available and more than willing to support you. Course is very informative and just as expected. Lectures are well planned and very interactive. Busy. Easy to get to from university.

There were plenty of activities and events planned. The community at the university is so welcoming and always listens to the choices of students. I didn't stay in university accommodation. But I did visit them and they looked great. The facilities are well equipped. The space is enough and caters to all group sizes. The lectures ensured you were helped when needed. The course was interesting and the variety in the assessments were great too. City life was great, because that's mostly where I spend my time.

Positive experience: great career opportunities, free tuition, mental health support, fun socials.

(4.8)·By Susuana S·Social Work· Jun 2024
I have had access to multiple careers and networking events. My course leaders regularly invite fellow colleagues and networks to guest lecture and give us advice. We are signposted to many networking events that also provide access to industry knowledge.

There was a leadership program and full access to career support. The leadership award also gave me access to coaching opportunities from staff and the University of West London. The awards were available to everyone, therefore I was able to have friendships with people from different courses and degree levels.

At the St. Mary’s campus most days I see fun events and careers fairs with freebies and advice available to every student.

From the experiences of my friends and classmates, I understood there is very good mental health support for students and disability support packages. The counseling department is very supportive and easily accessible.

Events for groups of people of a certain ethnicity to meet up like African Caribbean Society and ones for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Halloween, and sports events.

The best thing we got was free study support sessions: for how to reference, how to write an essay, and time management. All for free throughout the whole year. It is so helpful for adult students and internal students and everyone new to higher education. I really appreciated all the support.

I have had a fantastic university experience with thorough support from student services when things get tricky.

No 1 for student Satisfaction

(4.8)·By Tahira M·Biomedical Science· Jun 2023
When I started my first year I was really anxious and worried that because there were many students, I wouldn't feel connected to the lectures or university. However, after a few months it's obvious that the lectures really care for us as they gave us extensions or multiple attempts for assignments even offering extra sessions on areas we found difficult outside of the timetable. The head of the degree is also exceptional and understanding about our lives and how it impacts our studies. The university also offers many opportunities to meet people for leisure as well as helping build networks.
