Business Economics Doctor of Philosophy - PhD

The PhD in business economics offers a structured research pathway for those seeking to investigate and address complex questions at the intersection of economics, business, and policy. The programme provides a combination of advanced training, supervisory guidance, and independent research opportunities, enabling students to develop the skills and knowledge required for high-quality, impactful scholarship.

From the outset, the programme offers access to taught components and research development activities that strengthen both theoretical understanding and applied analysis. You will engage with topics that examine how businesses and markets operate, how policy environments shape economic outcomes, and how organisations respond to changing economic conditions. The research environment is designed to support enquiry into real-world issues faced by firms, public organisations, regulators, and policymakers.

You will work closely with a supervisory team of experienced academics who provide tailored guidance on research design, methodology, and dissemination. The programme also offers access to a vibrant research community, including seminars, workshops, and networking events with leading scholars and practitioners.

The programme provides an exceptional environment for interdisciplinary collaboration, access to extensive resources, and opportunities to develop research with both academic and practical significance.
