We have strong connections with Glasgow’s creative and cultural organisations, representatives of which contribute to our programme (eg talks from policymakers and screen practitioners on our core course Media & Cultural Policy). You will be given a bursary towards the cost of private instrumental or vocal tuition. <br/><br/><strong>Career Prospects?</strong> <br/><br/>This programme is a valuable preparation for careers in various aspects of the media, arts and cultural industries as well as for non-media-related careers (eg teaching, public relations). Immediate job destinations for recent graduates include production coordinator for BBC Studios, PR assistant for a creative communications agency and diversity standards’ analyst for the British Film Institute. Older graduates have gone on to establish successful careers as TV producers, arts administrators, educators and leaders within non-profit organisations. The BMus degree provides a strong foundation for careers in performance, composition, research & teaching, music administration, journalism, publishing and librarianship. It provides an unusual breadth of strong transferable skills which are applicable to a wide range of careers outside music.
