You’ll benefit from working with a team of both research-active and industry-connected supervisors.<br/><br/>**Drama**<br/>The growing drama community at UoG offers opportunities to engage in a rich programme of talks and workshops from visiting lecturers/companies. You’ll also benefit from our close links with local professional theatres and festivals.<br/><br/>As a research student you will have access to our suite of performance studios, digital equipment and the support of technical staff. If your practice requires experienced performers, you’ll be able to work with students from the BA performing arts courses.<br/><br/>You’ll be encouraged to attend and present your work at the major conferences such as those organised by TAPRA (Theatre and Performance Research Association) and IFTR ( International Federation of Theatre Research).<br/><br/>Your development as a postgraduate researcher will be supervised and nurtured by a small team who will work closely with you and offer feedback at every stage as you progress through the course.<br/><br/>You’ll be supported by staff whose specialisms include:<br/><br/><br/>- devising<br/><br/><br/>- immersive and par,ticipatory theatre,<br/><br/><br/>- acting,<br/><br/><br/>- performance art,<br/><br/><br/>- classical theatre,<br/><br/><br/>- theatrical adaptation,<br/><br/><br/>- writing for performance,<br/><br/><br/>- multimedia and intermedial arts,<br/><br/><br/>- site-related performance,<br/><br/><br/>- theatre and education,<br/><br/><br/>- applied theatre.<br/><br/><br/>**Performing Arts**<br/>Postgraduate study in performing arts covers a wide range of topics, with a focus on interdisciplinary work. Members of the performing arts team have a particular interest in practice as research.<br/><br/>Areas of research interest and experience include:<br/><br/><br/>- musical theatre,<br/><br/><br/>- devising,<br/><br/><br/>- role play in professional training,<br/><br/><br/>- writing for performance,<br/><br/><br/>- live and mediated performance,<br/><br/><br/>- acting for camera,<br/><br/><br/>- singing and performance,<br/><br/><br/>- theatre and community,<br/><br/><br/>- health, wellbeing and resilience,<br/><br/><br/>- theatre and playwork<br/><br/><br/>**Dance**<br/>We have a well-established research reputation and strong links and partnerships with arts organisations, professional dance companies, dance practitioners and publishing houses in the UK and internationally.<br/><br/>We welcome students interested in:<br/><br/><br/>- dance, somatics and philosophy<br/><br/><br/>- dance, spirituality and religious studies<br/><br/><br/>- dance science<br/><br/><br/>- performance praxis<br/><br/><br/>- community dance and education<br/><br/><br/>- inter-cultural and cross-cultural dance cultures.<br/><br/><br/>This research contributes to the research priority areas Sport, Exercise, Health and Wellbeing and Creative Practice as Research.
