Accounting and Finance, Year 1

It was brilliant so much to do! They had pizza and games and an entire week of events including places to go at night unfortunately I was only 17 then so couldn’t go but enjoyed the fun stuff during the week .

I don’t use the accommodation at uni as I only live 20 miles away but from what I have heard and seen it seems very nice it’s just beside the uni too which is better also not much to travel it’s just a walk away.

Library is brilliant it has 2 levels we got shown round it in our freshers week. The classrooms are very well facillitated as we use the computers they all work well and there’s plenty of them no need to share etc.

It’s what I want to do in the future which is even better. I’m learning from people with experience in the subject and they make it fun and interesting and help us to collaborate with each other. It’s definitely made me want a future job in the industry I am studying.

I was only 17 when I started so I never knew much about the nightclubs at freshers but now I love it ! Perth is great has shops etc and a lot of lovely restaurants and it’s not a far walk from the uni

My course is brilliant for those who enjoy working on computers and numbers etc. The lecturers are brilliant they know so much you can ask them anything. There’s so many different units and even if there’s one you don’t like you know that the others are enjoyable. I highly recommend the course!

Friendly, interesting and the lecturers and generally approachable. Due to the classes being over VC it's quite a new experience.

Music, Graduate

(4.5)·By Caitlin S·Music· Jul 2021
As I commuted to and from the campus by public transport, it meant that I had to miss out on a lot of what freshers week had to offer - not unless I stayed overnight locally. On campus we had a variety of events and activities but due to travelling, I couldn't waste time after classes before going for the train home to enjoy everything campus freshers week offered (I did make the Dominos Pizza!) There were a variety of buildings used for student accommodation on my campus at a very close proximity with the university facilities and buildings. I did not house in them throughout university but did visit friends who did, and did not fault anything. There were an array of facilities on campus which could be used in between classes, or at the beginning or end of the day. Depending on transport times back home, I often spent my free time in the student union or library at the Perth College campus. The only negative thing about the library facilities is the hill I had to walk up to reach it!! Otherwise, the hill is not a game changer and the library is facilitated well which meant I always left fulfilled and happy. Having studied in Glasgow prior to transitioning to University in Perth, it was a totally different experience in terms of course content - even though it was still a music course. I loved the variation of repertoire I was taught throughout as it encouraged me to go way outside my comfort zone. As a graduate, there is immense pride in my progress throughout the years on my instrument. As for the academic, non practical elements, they were tough and a large step from college education but this was expected. I enjoyed the challenge and the content of the research conducted i.e dissertation. Perth is a very quiet town but also beautiful and quaint. There was a big difference compared to Glasgow - the city I have lived in my entire life (good differences). I cannot comment much on the night life of Perth but if you love history and beautiful landscapes you will be spoiled in Perth.

It was great everyone was really friendly and gave all the information needed for a great start Great and really close to the campus. With great functional rooms and equipment Everything is very clean and modern. It's a very well organised campus with very friendly staff. The lectures are great because we are in a small group. The lecturers are very helpful and understanding. And the lectures are well spread out in the week The campus is next to a small town that is really nice and really enjoyable with great pubs. There is everything you need in that town which is great

I was very happy with everything!

It was nice being part of a bigger uni and I liked that classes would link students from all over Scotland. This is already the second course I have studied at the uhi and I would definitely come back here to study again - I may come back and do a course on Popular Music. At the Centre for History, all of the staff are fantastic and always available when we need some help, regardless of when it is. I personally studied at the Perth campus and thought it was beautiful, the same goes for the city.

Freshers week at Perth uni is always great fun! Last year they had a rodeo machine, there's always plenty of free food vouchers (pizza, Nando's, that kind of thing) so great for a student

The lectures are great and couldn't be nicer they go the extra mile to help. Loving the course so far and very much looking forward to Year 2. Haven't been on any nights out yet I'm too much of an introvert for that but I'm loving uni and I'm loving my classes highly recommend

Not very exciting as the dumfries campus is miles away from the main campus in Inverness and the course started the wee before freshers I live in a private rent as the dumfries campus has no student accommodation Again dumfries campus has none of these Very informative and could join, using VC meant seeing peers in other centres across the screen Dumfries is small town only half an hour from Carlisle so nightlife was amazing

My personal university experience is more than satisfying. The lectures are extremely helpful and genuinely supportive of my education. The PAT(personal academic tutor) and class rep are people that I'm familiar with and they work with the students to improve life for students. Perth is a party town, despite the bleak exterior. Clubs and pubs such as ice factory and the green room are frequented by many students. For cheap liquor and love music there is not substitute. The UHI communicates really well with its students and this makes studying with the UHI so pleasant
