A Master of Laws (LLM) in Employment Law is a postgraduate degree designed for law and non-law graduates to enhance your academic legal knowledge. This internationally recognised Master’s will provide you with the opportunity to explore issues surrounding employment law in the UK and can open up pathways to careers such as chartered governance professional or company secretary within large organisations, private companies and charitable organisations, governorships, and directorships. <br/><br/>The jurisdiction of the Employment Tribunal has grown from a limited administrative role to a forum for enforcing a range of individual rights, including unfair dismissal and discrimination. This course will cover the growth of the Employment Tribunal and employment law, including the shift in focus from collective rights to individual ones. You’ll consider the effectiveness of the individual-enforcement model in the context of discrimination and harassment, covering the limitations of the protected characteristics approach and the role of the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
