Explore how psychology impacts the workplace and learn how to improve organisational and employee performance by applying psychological theories and principles to the work environment. Accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Course description\
Gain expertise in business and organisational psychology at one of the UK's leading centres for work psychology. Taught by internationally recognised researchers from the Institute of Work Psychology, you'll learn how psychological science can be applied to address today's workplace challenges, including leadership, employee wellbeing, coaching, learning and development, organisational change, diversity and inclusion, and the future of work. Throughout the programme, you'll develop the critical thinking and evidence-based decision-making skills needed to improve organisations and the work lives of employees.
Through interactive workshops and applied learning, you'll build practical skills in coaching, psychometric assessment, leadership development, providing feedback and evaluating organisational interventions. You'll also receive complimentary training leading to professional psychometric certification for both ability and personality assessments.
You'll receive rigorous training in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, with the flexibility to tailor your dissertation to your interests and career ambitions. Whether you're preparing for a career in occupational psychology, human resources, consultancy or doctoral research, you'll graduate with the skills to generate evidence and solve complex organisational challenges.
Many students complete company-based dissertation projects through the Management School's network of organisational partners, applying their knowledge to live workplace challenges in areas such as leadership development, workplace wellbeing, training evaluation and the future of work. You'll also benefit from guest speakers, networking events with successful alumni and employer representatives, dedicated employability support, and a supportive learning community where you'll build lasting professional connections.
