As part of the MSc in Data and Digital Humanities, you’ll engage with innovative technologies like Artificial Intelligence and AR/VR to understand their potential for humanities research.<br/><br/><strong>Course description</strong><br/>If you have a passion for data, digital culture and heritage and a desire to shape digital innovation, this MSc is for you.<br/><br/>Our Data and Digital Humanities MSc will enable you to participate in creative and interdisciplinary digital research and give you the critical knowledge and skills you need for your future career. Through a combination of practice and theory, youll develop expertise in the technical and ethical dimensions of digital humanities. Youll also have an opportunity to gain practical training and work experience in digital methods and digital project management, and learn how digital products are created.<br/><br/>You’ll study how data and digital content are used in culture and heritage, and investigate the cultural contexts of digital developments through historical, critical and theoretical perspectives. <br/><br/>As part of the MSc in Data and Digital Humanities, you will engage with innovative technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR and VR) to understand their potential for humanities research.<br/><br/>As part of this course, you will<br/>- learn how digital content is used to represent human culture and society in the past and present, such as ancient documents, artefacts and environments to social media, digital arts and virtual worlds.<br/><br/><br/>- study how digital humanities methods are applied in real-world research challenges and cultural projects.<br/><br/><br/>- use advanced methods (including AI) that integrate text, image, sound, and interactivity in the design and execution of digital research.<br/><br/><br/>- cultivate a critical awareness of key debates, methods, and research developments across the arts and humanities.<br/><br/><br/>- explore how to embed ethical, sustainable, inclusive, and accessible approaches to data-driven digital humanities research.<br/><br/><br/>- implement your learning on a real-world project as part of your work experience module.<br/><br/><br/>- hear from the people who are shaping the future of the arts and humanities through technology and new media in our innovative Business Leader Talks. <br/>
