Tailor your training to your research interests and career goals, from clinical and cognitive to developmental and social psychology, as you study the latest research methods techniques from published psychologists.<br/><br/><strong>Course description</strong><br/>Learn the latest techniques in cutting-edge psychological research from the psychologists who are using them in their published studies.<br/><br/>We’ll train you in robust research methods including neuroimaging (EEG, fMRI), behavioural genetics, experimental methodologies, qualitative methods (including diary studies), systematic review and meta-analysis methodologies, as well as specialist methods for working with infants, children, and co-producing research with non-academic partners. You’ll then have opportunities to apply these methods to the field of psychology that youre most interested in. <br/><br/>From week one, youll practice a range of skills that are important for psychologists in academia and professional roles. Youll understand ethical issues in research, learn how to write grant proposals, and receive training in multivariate statistics and machine learning methods. All whilst developing your presentation skills ready to take part in our summer postgraduate students conference.<br/><br/>The biggest part of the course is your research project and systematic review. This is your opportunity to put your new research methods knowledge and statistical skills into practice whilst addressing an issue at the forefront of psychological research. You’ll work under the supervision of one of our world-class researchers, aligned to your career goals and research interests within cognitive, developmental, social, or clinical psychology.<br/><br/>Please see our University website for the most up-to-date course information.
