(5)·By Kaivalya·Medicine· Jul 2021 It was really good, there were lots of fresher events organised by societies and the uni. Nights out were fun, became best friends with my flatmates and got to hang out with lots of other medics at medic events! I stayed at Astor College which was recently refurbished. It was amazing, the rooms are small (but so are all rooms in London) but very modern. The common room was beautiful and facilities were great. Security was a bit strict on guests unfortunately. Lots of choice with the libraries, the Student Centre is gorgeous but always full. My favourite was the Cruciform library for medics - good combination of work and socialising. Bloomsbury fitness had squash courts which is a huge bonus. Student union are a little hard to contact and slow to respond (from a society's perspective). Course was challenging but rewarding. Some lecturers are very passionate and are great at taking time to answer questions. Other sessions such as tutorials and anatomy labs were very enjoyable, but dry labs were pointless. Amazing, I have no regrets about staying in London. Always something to do, no matter how niche your interests are. Clubbing and night life is unparalleled.
