Two linked global challenges underpin the philosophy for this course – physical inactivity and climate change.
Rooted in practitioner‑focused learning, enriched by world‑class facilities, and aligned with labour‑market demands, global challenges and sector expectations, this course develops those who want to become applied exercise physiology practitioners, by developing their craft knowledge to work with health and/or occupational populations.
The course is designed around five pillars: practitioner-focused learning, physiology skill-centred development, science in practice, personal and professional development, and emotional intelligence – applied exercise physiology. It blends hard, technical expertise with softer interpersonal skills which are essential to becoming an effective exercise physiology practitioner in the workplace.
Gaining hands-on experience through built-in industry placements and reflective practice, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to thrive in professional settings.
You’ll also be supported to work towards relevant certifications, accreditations or affiliations with professional bodies, such as Chartered Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (CASES) Exercise Science Certified Practitioner, to improve your employability.
