Sport performance environments have become significantly more data‑rich, interdisciplinary and solution‑focused. Employers now expect practitioners who can navigate complex performance questions, handle large datasets, communicate effectively with coaches and athletes, and design interventions grounded in strong physiological reasoning.
This course responds to these professional expectations by advancing your scientific understanding of sport physiology and integrating it with hands‑on, practitioner‑ready skill development.
The course is designed around five pillars: practitioner-focused learning, physiology skill-centred development, science in practice, personal and professional development, and emotional intelligence. It blends hard, technical expertise with softer interpersonal skills which are essential to becoming an effective performance physiology practitioner in the workplace.
Gaining hands-on experience though built-in industry placements and reflective practice, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to thrive in a range of professional settings.
You’ll also be supported to work towards relevant certifications, accreditations or affiliations with professional bodies, such as the Chartered Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (CASES) Supervised Experience, to be an accredited sport and exercise scientist and improve your employability.
