How old is University of East London?
University of East London has a long history. Initially established in 1898 as West Ham Technical Institute, it then became the West Ham College of Technology in 1952 before becoming North East London Polytechnic in 1970.
In 1989, the college re-branded as Polytechnic of East London. Eventually, the college received university status in 1992, when it was also re-branded as the University of East London.
